During a press conference in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday, Trump praised the “fantastic” task force but said that “we’re now looking at a little bit of a different form.”

“And that form is safety and opening,” he said. “And we’ll have a different group probably set up for that.”

So it will be an entirely new group focused on something completely different. But it’s all super fantastic!

Okay…

Task Force, Will ‘Continue On Indefinitely’

“We’ll just staff it with a bunch of college drop-outs, like the rest of the white house.”

The WH CV Task Force (and that Jared task force) are responsible for killing thousands of Americans. They supplanted the CDC and FEMA and spent more time spinning Trump’s message than helping Americans. In the critical weeks of Feb and early March, Pence led that task force, suppressed info from governors and let people die.

We’re seeing in the last 3 days the CDC and FEMA chirping a bit, keeping it real about the shortages in PPE, expressing worry about lifting social distancing and providing a reality check on the direction of caseloads and fatalities in the coming weeks. Fauci, though a decent and likable man, did not use his platform to push for testing. Birx couldn’t even resign after Trump talked about drinking bleach.

I would be only too glad to see this WH task force end.

Believe it or not, as bad as the last 2 months have been, the next 2 portend to be worse.

One of its new tasks will be to praise me and express unconditional love for me.

Hey, if a restaurant owned by completely different people with a completely different menu, serving a completely different kind of food, and operating under a different name, is still the same restaurant, then this is a no-brainer.

No, really — no brains.

This is Trump belatedly realizing that the appearance of abject surrender to the virus is bad PR. He’s still gonna unconditionally surrender, of course, but the new policy will be called Viral Victory or some such shit.

Might come back?

The problem with that question is that “might come back in fall” implies the virus has left or is leaving, when in fact the numbers seem to be continuing to grow just as before just shifted to new locations.
