We all knew that tump would have the stage pretty much to himself during the recess. The next several weeks will continue to be a shit show.
Good time for a news break and some vacation time starting this weekend.
Speaking of vacation, I was told this morning that McConnell is “taking a 40 day vacation”…Whaaaa? Obviously that is longer than the recess.
Will see if I can track that down before before Friday afternoon.
The denial is strong with this one, as with his fanbots. I can never truly tell if it’s actual denial, or a front, and if the latter whether it’s to protect their guy’s image, or to mess with us “libtards”, since doing that is easily the biggest reason they support him in the first place, his “movement” being about little more than tribal and cultural payback by intellectually and morally subnormal racist white imbeciles who can’t or won’t get with modernity in all its aspects including social.
They’re still actually claiming that he’s not a racist (or sexist) and is in no way stoking the flames of racism and inciting violence with his words, and that the economy is proof that he’s done a great job as president (as opposed to the great work that Obama & Co. did of cleaning up Bush & Repubs’ mess and rebuilding our economy base, because tax cuts and market confidence).
Which really makes me wonder whether they’re really this stupid and clueless, or if it’s just a front they put on. Can it be both? Do they even know what racism is? Do they believe there even if such a thing? Perhaps it’s the wrong question, like asking whether a chipmunk believes that the earth is round.
Perhaps it never even gets to the level of their genuinely thinking about these questions, and it’s more about if it makes their guy look bad, they deny it, whether or not they even begin to understand what it is that they’re denying. This explains why deficits were bad under Obama but just fine under Trump. It’s not really about the issues, but about tribe and leader. The GOP is a cult. A death cult.
@tao The credible news sources he routinely disregards are those of his own intelligence community. I doubt if he would know a credible source if it appeared on his TelePrompTer.
This is bluff: Trump needs Fox as much as Fox needs Trump.
Brand loyalty can cut both ways and both these bad actors would have to worry that a ‘divorce’ could cause fans to choose one or the other but not both.
Also, the President of the United States is openly talking about which daytime TV shows he prefers to watch every day while the rest of us stiffs are at the office working. And that’s just reality now.
Even if OAN is not in regular carriers’ packages, it’s in the IPTV packages available cheaply on eBay. (5000 stations from around the world everything imaginable and then some.) Trumpers will find it.
He’s turned the Oval Office into ad space for right wing media. “You promote my product on your channel, which is me, and I’ll be sure to direct my voters and fans to discover, or to put more faith in your reporting.”
The founder of OANN, Robert Herring, essentially tried to buy Terri Schiavo from Michael Schiavo so that he could choose her guardians and keep her on a feeding tube indefinitely.
