“‘Those messy details — that is motive,’” Steinglass told Judge Merchan. ‘That was Mr. Trump’s motive to silence her story.’

“It’s a subtle difference. But it’s critical to understanding the significance of Daniels’ testimony, and how the defense’s aggressive cross examination fits — or doesn’t fit — with what prosecutors allege.”

And, since he’s running for president again - to try to stay out of jail and to wield absolute authoritarian power over the country - he ordered his lawyers to try to destroy the person whose absolutely true story could damage him again.

And a better appearance, body, and equipment than what the defendant has had in a long time … if ever.

Nullification, like lying, is a natural tool of nihilists.

Who’s Mr Lothario McSmarmy to the right of Trump?

I think the description of the whole testimony Stormy gave indicated how “grim” the whole “meh” episode was. Not something that the Defendant would ever want anyone to know: he’s a loser.

“The world is watching.”

And most are hoping he goes to prison.

Trump’s lawyers’ only hope is a hung jury: specifically, the one juror who says that his main source of information is “X” and Trump’s “Truth Social.” They have to hope that this guy sticks to his guns in the jury room, refusing to convict in the face of all the evidence, which will have convinced the other eleven jurors that Trump needs to be convicted.

I’m more concerned that the backdrop might be a rendition of Trump ordering his military to bomb a Democratic Congress - or just bomb Congress to eliminate that branch of government. And the Supreme Court is just to the east, so 1 stone - 2 birds (but let’s drop 6 to be sure).

I keep trying to understand this.

If Fat Boy is charged with falsifying business records in how he accounted for the $130,000 then what the fuck does it matter if Daniels lied her ass off and made the whole thing up? Of course I believe her completely, but why is it relevant?

The defense kept hammering at her to try and trip her up, but isn’t all that irrelevant? Isn’t it just a game of insulting the juror’s intelligence? The crime he is charged with has nothing to do with her, her veracity, her profession, or anything. So aside from just being assholes and throwing anything at the wall, what is the defense trying to accomplish?

“Humiliation of Trump, the only goal here.”

Jury nullification might be what they are trying for but what I have heard that isn’t what they got from the Stormy Daniels cross.

The defense has no defense. And because sex sells all the news coverage is because sex sells.
