The point is that we are all capable of believing things which we *know* to be untrue, and then, when we are finally proved wrong, impudently twisting the facts so as to show that we were right. Intellectually, it is possible to carry on this process for an indefinite time: the only check on it is that sooner or later a false belief bumps up against solid reality, usually on a battlefield.

Trump and his offspring rely on a kind of reverse glass houses strategy. They live in glass houses, but instead of being reluctant to throw stones, they do so enthusiastically. It’s as if throwing the first punch inoculates from the transgression. Unfortunately, as long as our institutions (like the media, the Democrats, etc.) succumb to both-siderism and/or fail to call out Trump et al., it’s a highly effective strategy.
This strategy requires utter shamelessness to succeed.

He is just happy about the chaos and anxiety it creates. Remember that. It is the Narcissist Way. Scavino taps into that like an eternal well. Trump does not care what it means, good or bad at that point, just it shakes up the box more. And he is proud of that.
I am willing to be Trump says things like “I may be an asshole, but I am not here to make friends. It is how I get things done and no one else can. And I am proud to be the best asshole I can be!”

Considering “scorched earth” kills everything in it’s path, it’s not a good term to use, but it’s about time left-wing monied interests started taking the politics of destruction seriously and finally aim their cash cannons directly at the Trump family.
Though I hope they continue or start to aim just as much if not more at Democratic get out the vote efforts.

I’m sorry, but that meme does not show President Trump “playing the fiddle.” Perhaps you can make a fiddle while Rome burns inference, but that is clearly someone playing a violin.
Yes, a fiddle is a violin, often tuned differently and it’s more a matter of the type of music being played, but this bugs me. Like some movies and TV shows that won’t pay to hire someone that can actually play the instrument as an extra.
It’s just lazy and annoying. /soap box
