Trump complained about someone being overweight? He has no mirror?

And I should care about any of this? Why?

So surprised. Not.

some other tidbits from politico (originally posted in the first Westerhout thread)

a couple of other tidbits…
Hogan Gidley was at the same dinner, but left before the ‘objectionable’ comment were made.

they also report on (some of?) the reporters at the dinner…and it occurred in a public setting

After the Aug. 17 dinner, which took place at the restaurant inside the nearby Embassy Suites hotel and included the Washington Post’s Phil Rucker, Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs, Reuters’ Steve Holland and the Wall Street Journal’s Andrew Restuccia, Westerhout rode back to a different hotel, the Marriott, with Rucker and Holland.

Administration officials are now blaming the media, saying the dinner was “off the record”, and Don Jr informal mouthpiece is targetting Rucker…

“This was an off-the-record dinner and the media blatantly violated that agreement,” an administration official said.
Arthur Schwartz, a confidant of Donald Trump Jr. who spars frequently with the media, accused Rucker on Friday in a series of tweets of having “burned” Westerhout…

(From other sources) Schwartz has tweeted that Rucker told someone else about what Westerhout had said, and THAT person brought it to the White House’s attention.

Does “off the record” include gossiping with someone else?

If it was off-the-record, why do we know about it? Someone ratted. She deserved to trust that it was off-the-record.

The real burst of schadenfreudey goodness comes when you realize that we’d probably not have heard any of this had the Ochre Ogre not fired her.

We only know about it because she got fired for it which indicates to me that someone else from the White House also at the dinner, not a reporter, ratted her out to whoever fired her.

We would never had heard about this dinner otherwise.

“What’s does ‘respect’ mean?”

He certainly has mirrors in his piss elegant Trump Tower condo, it’s self-introspection he lacks.

the current version is that Phil Rucker told the story to someone else, and THAT person told the White House.

That. Was. It. Pretty damned pathetic. It’s not like she was talking about the latest abortion one of them had.

At the take-your-kid-to-work deal when the White House press corps had their children there, he not only told the kids how awful their parents are but he insulted Sarah Sanders when the candy or cookies or whatever were brought in for the kids. Something about laying off the sweets so they wouldn’t become fat, while looking at Sarah. He repeatedly humiliated Chris Christie in public. He has that special internal mirror Narcissists have that doesn’t allow him to see what he looks like.

I expect she’ll end up at Fox News making bank just like the other girl.

And has Politico always been this tabloid-ey? Or is it because VandeHei left?

She also joked that Trump could not pick Tiffany out of a crowd

Very sad but totally believable.

"She also joked that Trump could not pick Tiffany out of a crowd,’

That’s easy, Tiffany’s the one with the great fashion sense.

Again with the inappropriate belt ! Although it’s nice to see a budget-conscious law student saving money by recycling her mom’s dress from the 80’s.

I’ll lay money on that.
