Today, as it happens, is the Feast of Saint Notker Balbulbus, whose name means ‘Notker the Stutterer’. He wrote a hymn to Saint Stephen, to which hymn he appended a footnote:
Sick and stammering and full of evil, I, Notker the unworthy, have sung the triumphs of Stephen with my polluted mouth.
Stephen, you may recall, at his trial centuries earlier on charges of blasphemy, made a speech denouncing the Jewish authorities sitting in judgement of him, whereupon he was promptly stoned to death.
You might also recall that Saul, the original road-to-Damascus guy, having stood by the execution, later wrote:
And while the blood of your witness Stephen was shed, I myself was standing by, approving and keeping the coats of those who killed him.’
I mention these things just to underscore how, down to this very day, it’s all connected.

The more I see of these grifting, lunatic, evangelical leaders, the more I agree with physicist Richard Feynman: God is an unnecessary variable to which Occam’s Razor applies. Newton’s Laws proved the solar system worked fine with no God and in the process demonetized religion for rational individuals, like Deist Thomas Jefferson and his Occamized Bible. God is no longer personal and subject to prayers, supplication, offerings or bribes and there is no right church. For grifters, demonetizing religion is the ultimate sin.

Regarding using equal measures and playing by the rules, the administration is launching some kind of “fraud” detection detail (when we already have agencies like the Federal Trade Commission and many others covering this sort of thing), which I am reasonably certain will function as some kind of cover for massive corporate fraud (like not pursuing violators) as well as fooling the little people into thinking Trump cares about fraud, other than finding creative measures to employ it for whatever ends.
I am still waiting for the idolators who worship Trump to discover the split in his own facade and to discover the Antichrist hidden inside.
I’m really excited for an update to this article now that Trump has surrendered and accepted all of Iran’s demands as the basis for negotiations!
