Iran is making more money then it could ever have imagined thanks to Trump’s war.
What is now clear is that Iran, thanks exclusively to Trump’s war, has total control over the Straits of Hormuz and that all countries must pay that troll to get through.
This is both power and money Iran did not have before the Trump started his war.
While I make no predictions on the future, in the present this article clearly says Iran is winning this war.
However, in response to this article it is necessary to make two points that have been made repeatedly but keep being ignored by the media including TPM.
The first point is that Donald Trump did not create his base. Rather Trump’s base created Donald Trump. For Trump’s part, Trump is merely a mascot for his their grievances. It is why Trump supporters get so upset when you disagree with Trump, they hate you for attacking their grievances.
The second point, and this addresses the grievances of Trump’s base, is that the overwhelming support for Donald “grab her by the …” Trump by White Evangelicals (most Blacks are Evangelicals and overwhelmingly oppose Trump) proves beyond all doubt that “values” in front of the word voter is and has always been code for race.

I remember listening to one of Trump‘s post debate interviews in 2015. He was explaining that the IRS kept auditing his tax returns and so he could not release them. He was asked why the IRS kept auditing his returns and he replied that he thought it was “because he was such a strong Christian.” I knew a lot about Trump and I remember thinking to myself that this was one of the most ridiculous things I had ever heard in my life. But I guess in his lizard brain way he was on to something.

One would think all the commandments (remember those? the evangelicals want them posted in every classroom!) he’s broken would get through to his evangelical followers.
I mean, I can’t testify that he has violated “honor your father and your mother” but it sure looks to me like he’s violated all of the other nine.
No other gods before the Lord? As Jesus said, you can’t worship both God and Mammon, and we know which one Trump worships.
Graven images? His own name and image, in as many places as he can have it put.
Taking the Lord’s name in vain? Failing to observe the Sabbath? Routinely.
Killing? All those Venezuelans on boats that could have been captured, but he preferred to blow them up. Same thing for the Iranian ship near Sri Lanka. I’m sure I could list more.
Stealing? It’s been his stock in trade since his New York days.
Adultery? Yeppers.
Bear false witness about people? All the blooming time.
And covet? Man, does he ever covet.
And please don’t talk to me about how Trump is persecuted. He’s the most powerful person on earth. His ‘persecutions’ consist of other people criticizing him, and some court decisions that have limited his exercise of power.
And his trial and conviction? OK, tell me which of those 34 charges he was unfairly convicted of. Gimme three. I’ll settle for three.
Trump is a hater. He is full of malice and desire for vengeance and retribution. He loves seeing people blown to bits. If this is evangelicals’ idea of someone Christlike, or even someone who’s kinda sorta on the right side of things, though far less than perfect, I’ve got to ask why they don’t judge their adversaries by the same standard. For:
“You shall not have unequal weights in your bag, one heavy, the other light. You shall not have unequal measures in your house, one large, the other small. You shall have true and correct weights and true and correct measures, so that you may live long in the land which the Lord your God is giving you. All who commit these offenses, all who deal dishonestly, are abominable to the Lord.” (Deut. 25:13-16)
