Trump’s treatment was either excessive because he’s POTUS or he was sicker than we know. Probably a bit of both. He had every high end treatment available ( antibody and antiviral ). I imagine that was because he could. No Doc wants to lose POTUS as a patient. But no matter what TX he’s had…he’s still COVID positive and should not be headed back to the White House in that state.

I don’t understand, honestly, the reluctance to have Pence become president. Sure, he’s a big sanctimonious born-again hypocrite jerk, but I’m pretty sure he’d allow the CDC and other agencies to begin addressing the pandemic in a rational way.

Looking at the situation from his point of view. The last day he ‘won’ was the ACB superspreader event, which is now a forfeit. First the taxes, then the debate failure, then the Melania tapes, then the COVID diagnosis and hospitalization. Finally, the recent polling showing Biden opening up a double digit lead.
He is desperate to turn this around. He has to appear strong again. Like he has beat this virus singled handed.
Now you add in all the drugs, and paranoia, and isolation a hospital stay requires. Plus the effects of the disease itself.
This is not going to end well for him.
Obviously, this is unlikely to work.

Most of the high-end treatments have serious potential side effects, including the antibodies, antivirals and the dex. You’d hope doctors could convince him not to take them if the risk significantly outweighed the potential gain. Or even lie to him about what he was getting.
But absolutely agree he shouldn’t be heading back to the WH. Transport stress alone is enough of a reason.
