President Trump has drawn backlash for his photo-op in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church following his first formal address Monday evening amid mounting protests nationwide in the wake of George Floyd’s death.Just before the President delivered his address in the Rose Garden, federal police used tear gas and flash bangs to disperse what appeared to be a peaceful crowd of protesters outside the White House as Washington, D.C.’s 7 p.m. curfew order approached.
Notice how all the henchmen around the orange man are white, and are all so full of their self importance and ‘manliness’. I’ll bet they are all aroused in a way that disgusts me. I am so full of loathing I am physically ill. The worst part is, there are real people out there that think this is just jim-dandy.
When George Will finally says stuff like this, you know the republicans are toast.
Don’t think this boosted his campaign. The clergy he had gassed for his farsical bible waving have spoken out against him. He looks even more awful than before.
If anyone is on the fence, wondering who they will support come November, I encourage them to get off the damned fence right now. This is how Trump operates: To force. To threaten. To attack. That is all he offers in his pantomime of leadership. Any idea that somehow, like Nixon’s last days, we could have some semblance of good government is a pipe dream. It’s time to get off the goddamned fence. Trump needs to be gone.
With how bad things have gotten since January 20, 2017, I’m afraid the country is now sitting on the precipice of something completely worse. There is no lower limit to Trump’s depravity.
Take another look at Trump standing there with his idiot scowl, holding a clearly unfamiliar book gingerly, like a bachelor holding a baby. Look at how profoundly stupid he looks and tell me this boosts his chances. This is going to be another campaign ad, for sure, intercut with cell-phone video of screaming, running middle-class young people mostly, and it’s gonna kill. For the Lincoln Project. For the Democrats. Not for Trump so much.
