I do that shit all the time in my writing. Its more a product of me being lazy than not knowing the difference however.
My sophomore high school English teacher said it best–
There is no apostrophe in his.
There is no apostrophe in hers.
There is no apostrophe in its.
The headline was inexcusable. Beyond that, whenever they report his words, they fail to report the way the delivery demonstrates that he is lying. Haltingly reading a teleprompter. Stumbling. Weird tone of voice. Of course he presents 100% different ly at his rallies when he spews hate.
Yeah, beginning with the lraq war buildup “reporting” and building up to pretty regularly lately. I often consider switching to WP but I like some of their columnists (Krugman, Blow, etc). Hell I even appreciate Friedman and Brooks because even if they are heavily into bothsiderism they are worthy reads. Their case against Trump may reach some that the lefties cannot. They certainly have more courage than the typical republican. I also like their science reporting and The Stone. Just another reason I think the individual sub model sucks. I`d love some sort of a bundled single payer model where I could pay for articles from my favorite journalists from many different publications and still choose to individually support sites like TPM.
Nor in “yours” or “ours”… for that matter, there’s no apostrophe in “mine” either, but this isn’t a case for confusion…
