Or the Grinch.
I thought everyone knew a section is 1 mile2. And of course we aren’t talking about a garden plot, or even a truck garden.
You’re welcome.
I’ve no idea, and the only data that start to address the issue are in the 2022 Census of Agriculture. I’m picking on Kansas because I know Kansas agriculture best. (I worked for what was then the USDA’s Statistical Reporting Service for a couple of years in the Kansas field office.) The Census has 6000+ Kansas farms over 2000 acres. Some of those are family corporations, I’d be surprised if many were sole proprietorships.
Nationally, I’d be surprised to learn that the number is much more a thousand or two. However, states have their own estate tax laws, and succession planning has to take those into account as well.
The thing is that this “family farmer” nonsense has been a Republican trope since the 1970s (maybe earlier). The iDJiT is echoing that mostly baseless cliché, and in this case he threw in some gratuitous anti-Jewish garnish with it.
And you’re absolutely correct that they may. I just know that over my years, things that I thought were common knowledge have turned out not to be.
ETA: I certainly meant no disrespect and absolutely appreciated your comment and estimates.
Alright. I’m finally going to bite. I’ve seen “TSF” multiple times over the last many months and never been sure what it meant and tried to intuit it on my own and failed.
Just went to the Internet and then specifically the Urban Dictionary and neither has a listing in the Trump context.
Watchya got?!
Comes from former president Joe Biden who termed trump “That Sick Fuck”. So I use the initials to indicate what Joe’s description was.

That Sick Fuck
= TSF
THANKS!

And the Farm State GOP has complained for years about families being forced by Estate Taxes to sell the family farm.
I was in the estate planning business in 1980. The individual exemption against the estate tax was 600,000 and therefore 1.2 million total for a married couple.
A lot of tax-free life insurance was sold against the liability above those amounts.
The 2025 exemption is almost 14,000,000 for an individual and 28 million for a married couple.
Those are some pretty big estate-tax-free-farms….

“I’ve never heard it that way, you view it differently than me. I’ve never heard that.”
“But boy did I get a great education at the Wharton School!”

ETA: I certainly meant no disrespect and absolutely appreciated your comment and estimates.
No offense taken. I was trying to explain why I hadn’t pointed out the relationship between acres and section.
While we’re at it, the Homestead Act gave settlers a quarter-section (160 acres) in exchange for living on it for 5 years and making improvements like building a dwelling and farming the land.
I try to remember to explain weird units when I need to use them. I didn’t think of “section” as a strange unit of area, but…I lived for 11 years in Kansas where most of the rural areas are laid out on a one mile grid and the roads were usually called “Section lines”. From there, I went to New Mexico for nearly 30 years. Much of New Mexico, like rural Kansas is largely laid out on section lines.

Those are some pretty big estate-tax-free-farms….
In Kansas it’s at least 3000 acres of irrigated land, and 5300 (or more) acres of dry land. Of course, at the rate the Ogallala aquifer is being depleted it’s all going to be dry land PDQ.
So, yeah, these “farms” are mostly organized as corporations of one sort or another.
Have a relation who was in the same business. Now retired.
And if the Estate Tax was so onerous, would not more NFL teams come up for sale when the owner dies? Nope, just passes on the the “lesser” members of the family. Davis, Spanos, etc, etc, etc.

Nope, just passes on the the “lesser” members of the family.
There are lots of value reduction gimmicks……
Yup. Depreciation of all sorts of thing. Calling it a closely held family business.
Because it all trickles down and supercharges the economy.
(Can you imagine how different things would be if the NFL owners had accepted CF-DJT offer to purchase the BIlls? But no, they said he wasn’t good enough to join their ownership club.)
Off topic, I suppose. It’s been years, but I recall hearing “Shylock” as a synonym for mob loan shark. Was it “Mean Streets” in which the DiNiro character owes money to a loan shark?

He should eat a few corndogs, just scarf 'em right down.
that hot-dog eating contest was one of the most obscene thinggs i have seen on tv…people actually stuffing food into their mouths…

Ever hear the expression “useful idiot”? His reward for filling the role? All he can steal.
i read an article on line…the author described trumpf as ‘feral’ he/she wrote they were at a loss for words to describe him…IMO. FERAL fits. i s accounts for his fall out with MUSK,a much younger, smarter and certainly more intelligent person than trumpf is or can ever be. MUSK was /is a threat to him…time will tell…iimo. Vance is the same, but trumpf cant ;fire Vance…he was elected.
Chump afraid of Vance, Musk?
People in groups compete for status. That’s organizational psych 101. In monarchies they call it “palace intrigue”. Watch one or more Masterpiece Theater productions of “Elizabeth” to see it played out in masterly fashion.
When the top dog feels threatened by someone beneath him/her that subordinate’s head lies easy beneath his hat. When that the top dog sees the subordinate with more talent that he, the result is that the knives come out. I expect that this oligarchy will display the counterpart of palace intrigue. Queen Liz had her chief of police frame Queen Mary so she could have the latter’s head.
Stay tuned.

Rosencrantz & Guildenstern.
Don’t deserve killing? You might get disagreement on these two Judas type assholes.
They were unaware of the contents of Claudius’ letter.

contents of Claudius’ letter.
Been a long time since I read Hamlet. Shakespeare. Most enjoyable course I took in college.
