@nemo, from just below this comment: most Americans don’t see how this is possible. Most Americans have a problem with this whole line of thinking because it’s entirely too Hollywood for them to imagine happening in real life. Honestly, I’ve spoken to some highly intelligent people that dismiss this entire premise as just too far outside the realm of possibility.
Sure we can go that route - not saying we shouldn’t, but don’t expect a wholesale lightblub to come on over the head of the American people that would cause them to say holy #$%^.

To repeat myself: this is what the impeachment investigation should be about. The brazen decision to enable Russia to continue its 2016 attack on our democracy and to imperil our 2020 elections. I’m pulling my hair out that Nadler and Schiff can’t see how politically irresistible that would be, not to mention crucial to the security of our democracy.

That trump is not in the middle of an impeachment trial right now implicates several dozens of Congressional members (House and Senate)
