Trump Pulls RNC Out Of NC After Trying To Force Guv To Allow Full Attendance At Event

President Donald Trump made good on his threat to withdraw the Republican National Convention (RNC) from Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday night if North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) did not guarantee that the convention space could be filled at full capacity despite COVID-19.

When Donnie pulls out, does anyone notice?

Because of @NC_Governor, we are now forced to seek another State to host the 2020 Republican National Convention

The NC_Governor acted as he did because YOU had a FUBAR response to the Corona Virus

This will help you win that Senate race in NC, Spanky.

Good for tRump! If NC already is a potential blue state in November, this can’t help his chances. But, will tRump back off like he always does?

For MANY reasons I am glad I’m not a Republican but honest to God…how on earth can any sentient human being be in the same party with this toad?

Who didn’t see that hissy fit coming?

It’s really unfortunate but the Dem governor is going to take a lot of heat for this as it’s going to be seen as losing economic potential. Now, we know that’s not true: more often than not, these conventions don’t garner much money for the area after everything is said and done. But, I’m pretty sure the narrative is going to be spun that Gov. Cooper lost the State money.

ETA: I’ve heard that FL is trying their damnedest to hide the fact that COVID-19 deaths are spiking. Good luck to Rethugs who want to go into that hotspot.

ā€œOccupyā€ ā€œDominateā€ - there are reasons these slime buckets use these words. It’s an egotistic projection of their insecurities.

That’s why their go-to terms ā€œSnowflakeā€ and ā€œCuckā€ for their enemies - are so aptly applied to their own base.

That’s going to depend on what sort of demonstrations appear at the convention wherever it is held. Could be he’s praised for ā€˜dodging a bullet’. We’ll see.

Even slime mold is grateful not to be in the same party as he.

If the stories I’ve heard about republican conventions are true, the only people really upset about this are the hookers and ā€˜pool boys’.
Republicans in general are tightwads and lousy tippers - except for those two demographics.

True, but think of the money he saved just by avoiding the inevitable rioting and looting that will follow the RNC Coronafest wherever it scurries off to.

Does Ronna know yet?

I agree that, in reality, this is a win-win move for NC. When the RNC was here in '04, it was a total mess for NYC and not even worth it for them.

Whatever State engages in the Russian roulette of hosting their convention has to weigh in large protests.

God, what a marketing genius this guy is, you really have to acknowledge it. Instead of having a North Carolina convention amid mitigation measures that would remind people of that whatchamacallit, the pandemic, he totally upends everything and at something past the last minute will be in another state where all the coverage will say this was supposed to be in Charlotte but Trump didn’t like the mitigation measures so it’s here. Brilliance!

Not to mention the medical costs to service staff.

The Donald is withdrawing because he’s threatened Convention Interruptus. I’m sure NC appreciates it.

That said, Georgia, Texas or Florida won’t mind getting screwed over by tRump by having his convention there. I’m sure the governors of those states have no problem with him not paying his bills there either.

tRump: Just put it on my tab.
