I have to admit, these kinds of stories are getting on my nerves. Not because they aren’t true, but because NO REPUBLICAN VOTER CARES. No republican politician cares. Hypocrisy is a FEATURE not a bug of Post Modern Conservatism. Just today on another site someone linked a list of polls showing how GOP voters will change their minds on a subject as soon as it’s politicly convenient to do so, while democrat voters remain largely consistent over the last decade. They do not care. They same republicans who screamed ‘Hillary will start a war in the middle east’ are all now yelling to ‘glass Iran’. They do not care.
I suppose the only real value in these seemingly endless ‘GOP hypocrisy’ stories is the need to drive this point home to a lot of Dems who still think republicans are acting in good faith when they say/claim they believe in something. They are not! They are now all Post Modern Conservatives and thus disingenuous political actors, their voters too. Stop trying to “reason” with them and work on way to beat and marginalize them at the ballot box by getting non-voters to vote Dem.
Also this video should be mandatory viewing for all liberals who don’t yet understand what Post Modern Conservatism is and why they embrace hypocrisy.

I’m thinking of the film Argo, some liberties were taken but it’s mostly factual. American hostages were taken, spent over a year in captivity (one unintended consequence was Reagan becoming prez because Carter couldn’t get them out) and some took refuge in the Canadian embassy in Tehran and they were eventually brought out. But moron’s scenario is more like Wag The Dog.
