I have to wonder what horrors the children of these people face. I missed polio due to the sugar cube vaccine, but had so many of the other diseases that are a memory now. I wonder how much of the vaccine pushback is a result of parents not having had these diseases themselves. I can’t imagine anyone who had them saying “yeah, my kid can have polio/measles/rubella…It’s no big deal.”

I remember in second grade getting the pamphlet advocating why parents should get their kids vaccinated for rubella. The potential damages from the illness were laid out pretty graphically.

A friend in elementary school (this is the late 1960s) went to camp, and came home deaf – caught measles there. I have nothing but contempt for anti-vaxxers who think they know more than epidemiologists.

DeSantis is trying to create another Rosewood, Florida with his new educational policies, only this time it is the whole state of Florida and not one community.
The reason he is doing this is because Mother Nature left him a mess when she sent hurricane Ian to the state, and he is trying to cover up his failure as a governor.

That’s a simplistic read of the situation. There have been numerous reports that Biden is unhappy with Garland’s efforts on TMFWWNBN. But one does not toss out an AG easily.
And the Right would insist that this is all fake news. It’s all a hoax.

It’s my understanding that the unwritten policy is that prisoners either have to supplement their meals from the canteen (grossly inflated prices) either from family money or their pitiful earnings. The potential for extortion is horrendous.
