President Donald Trump on Friday afternoon tweeted that he was nominating Rep. John Ratcliffe to be the director of national intelligence. Trump planned to nominate Ratcliffe for the position over the summer, but the Republican withdrew his name from consideration.
McConnell is gonna have to say again, politely but in public, that Ratcliffe’s not gonna be approved. Indeed, his approval would seem even less likely now.
It’s more likely just another bullshit excuse that Trump ad-libbed on the spot. He was probably just briefed on the IG report before he tweeted, so it was the first thing that came to mind for him when he needed to “justify” why he backed down last time (which was totally not a retreat on his part).
You’re right! And these are the sort of Trump nominees who can make a difference - tough, manly and take-charge kinda guys! The sort of guys who could pull the tool out of the nail pouch, bite its head off, chew it and swallow it. Yeah, real hammer-chewers! /s
For some reason all the history we have seen made these last few days, the childrens fairy tale Humpty Dumpty seems to becoming more real.Fox news is where all the kingsmen reside.
Only hack-dom is required. Clearly Trump is getting pressure re Grinell, that guy does not cut it, and this is a quick and dirty plan B, hopping to get some of the senate off his back.
Trump is really destroying our national security establishment, and some folks other than just Romney must be getting freaked out.
Don’t think Radcliff is going to steady the ship, he is butt-head stupid.
