Trump May Be Duping Donors Into Contributing To His PAC Instead Of Georgia Runoffs | Talking Points Memo

Nice to see that he’s taking the money instead of using it to help the two GOP excuses for Senators and human beings in Georgia. It will be fun to see how the Republicans respond to his actions if the Democrats win both seats because Trump has convinced enough Reps not to participate in the terrible unfair and corrupt elections in Georgia, and the money small donors in Georgia think they’re giving to the Senate campaigns goes mostly into Trump’s pocket.

Trump is literally the NYC three card monte game and the Republican base are the dupes.

I’m sure most of Trumps small donors would be thrilled their money was going into Trump’s own wallet.

The people who should be most upset about this con, are the evangelical churches and ministers because that is the group that is losing money.

Every time I see that picture I think, “a very expensive bespoke uniform should fit better than that.”

This is a win-win situation and we thought that Trump wasn’t good for anything.

Though the limitations on leadership fund PACs are woefully inadequate, he would definitely go to prison if he were to claim the funds as personal income. Reality is that they just need to be spent on things that are arguably political in nature, so there will be lots of expensive boondoggles for the rubes at various Trump properties and mass-purchases of Ivanka’s forthcoming slobber-job memoir.

A con man running a con? You don’t say.

It really should and robin egg blue, puhlease!!! Also, it is sagging from the weight of all those medals. If I was him and saw that picture, I would have the tailor who made it shot.

I wish I could find the article but just to say, this has already been known and is not a surprise. The thought was that Rump is putting the funds to his future defence against prosecution. It’s no where near enough to pay off his debts.

Trump was always able to get low IQ/low information folks to conflate his private–often flighty–commercial affairs as the same as those engaged in by top bankers and top corporate leaders.

In one of his rallies, early-on in his 2016 Campaign, he casually mentioned “Calling Ford Motors”.

As though money-laundering and bankrupting casinos were the same as auto manufacturing.

Yes, I was confusing it with the fund for his legal activities which last I heard had raised over 300 million. Thanks.

So he will just have to steal it by making sure all activities are at Trump properties charging 10 times the normal rate, etc., etc. The standard grift.

Exactly, he can’t just pocket the money as people are suggesting without creating significantly more legal woes. Oh, he can direct quite a bit to his own pockets with things like you describe, but it won’t be nearly enough to put even a dent in his debt. Also, I question how successful those boondoggles at Trump properties will be now that he’ll have nothing to offer the GOP’s wealthy donors. I imagine a great many of those types will be pretty pissed off at their ROI, especially if we take those two GA senate seats.

Over the weekend, a swath of Trump supporters rallying at pro-Trump events in Washington, D.C. chanted “Destroy the GOP!”

…all hail the “TOP”Trump official Party

no rules… no “platform” … no voting!

I think that Trump understands himself and his business well enough to realize that he has done significant damage to his brand. His hotel business will likely consist of local GOP meetings until they realize that it’s really stupid to pretend and to pay more than they would at the Radisson down the street. He may not realize the limitations on uses of PAC money, or he hopes that he will be able to get away with it, just as he has gotten away with other malfeasance his whole life. Think of the way they pretended that their foundation was all about “helping the chill-dren” when, in reality, it was all about helping him pretend to be rich.
That said, duping the donors so that they aren’t contributing to the Senate campaigns is the Trumpiest thing ever, and I can’t think of a group of people who deserve to be hoist on that petard more than the Republicans. He’ll milk them for all he can, and then blame them for the loss.

The RNC may soon realize that Frankenstein’s monster has turned on them.

So what will he name his new third party? Of course. All in gold. His Brownshirts are dressing in yellow and black, so just gild it a bit. Fool’s gold.

Maybe this is as good a spot as any to share this – which seems spot on. At the very some insight into what happened to Matt Taibbi and wtf with Glenn Greenwald : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8dYnipnlw0&feature=youtu.be

What makes you think he didn’t?

Correct. He’ll have to come up with new “investors” to pay off the $400 million reportedly coming due in the next couple years, assuming he does not already have under-the-table deals to sell off (at a significant loss) the golf courses as the payoff for the people whose money those properties are laundering.
