Marco Rubio is a U.S. senator. And he just can’t stand it anymore.
WaPo, October 2015:
“I don’t know that ‘hate’ is the right word,” Rubio said … “I’m frustrated.”
This year, as Rubio runs for president, he has cast the Senate … as a place he’s given up on, after less than one term. It’s too slow. Too rule-bound. So Rubio, 44, has decided not to run for his seat again. It’s the White House or bust.“That’s why I’m missing votes. Because I am leaving the Senate. I am not running for reelection,” Rubio said in the last Republican debate, after Donald Trump had mocked him for his unusual number of absences during Senate votes.
Hell, Marco, for all the good you’ve done, why don’t you just resign and let DeSantis appoint Iwanka as Senator? You’ve done nothing but kiss Trump’s ass the last four-plus years, so why not just roll over and let Iwanka take over, you quisling brown-noser.
I also don’t think she’ll run. Too much work. Let’s face it – she spent four years as “advisor” to the president and can anyone name anything she actually accomplished? Essentially, all she did was follow daddy wherever he went and then try to pretend that she had a reason for being there. And she is dumb as a rock. Some rocks are pretty, but they’re still dumb.
One of the mistakes Lincoln Project-type Republicans made* in 2015 was not taking Trump seriously soon enough. Once Trump was into the primary, they couldn’t stop him.
They won’t make that mistake with Ivanka or Don Jr. They’ll cut them off at the knees, at first chance.
I’m feeling less and less confident on that. Mostly because, if it was going to happen, I’d have expected to see some indictments ready to roll on the 21st.
In one post, from January 2019, Greene liked a comment that said “a bullet to the head would be quicker” to remove House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In other posts, Greene liked comments about executing FBI agents who, in her eyes, were part of the “deep state” working against Trump.
In one Facebook post from April 2018, Greene wrote conspiratorially about the Iran Deal, one of former President Barack Obama’s signature foreign policy achievements. A commenter asked Greene, “Now do we get to hang them ?? Meaning H & O ???,” referring to Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Greene replied, “Stage is being set. Players are being put in place. We must be patient. This must be done perfectly or liberal judges would let them off.”
Can you see the two of them debating each other? Stand pose, wait for the click. Shift, pose wait for the click. It will be a pose off, and they’ll have to get RuPaul to moderate.
I tend to agree, mainly because I don’t think that she would have the stomach for the general election. She’d have to answer for all her father’s most vial statements and the Lincoln Project would have a field day with her. To add to it, she doesn’t handle criticism well and she’s not good at defending herself.
I didn’t know how well Trump would do before the Primaries started, but I was alarmed very early in the 2016 campaign that Trump’s anti-democratic demagoguery wasn’t disqualifying him. I took him very seriously. And a lot of my Conservatives FB friends told me to relax because he would never be President.
