We already know the GQP are a bunch of corrupt spineless assholes, this might pass the house but is DOA in the Senate, and if by some miracle it passes, TSF will just veto it anyway.

Blanche said that anyone could apply. So, I’d suggest that James Comey get his application in right away. He’s got multiple claims. And he should be joined by everyone prosecuted and threatened by either of Trump’s DOJs. They all should make their applications public, as well and publicize their responses from this committee that will be doling out the free stuff. Let’s keep count of who gets what and who gets denied.
And despite assurances that neither Trump nor his family will receive any of the money, you can rest assured that there will be kick-backs and pass-throughs to Trump controlled entities.
Oh yeah, let’s also not forget the Republican mantra: “waste, fraud and abuse.” Beyond Susan Collins’s expressions of concern, will any of them have the stones ever to utter that phrase again?

Yes, Massie lost and he probably knew he was going to. But he’s been one of the advocates for getting the Epstein files out into the light of day. I’m hoping between now and his departure in December, I hope he becomes a major thorn in the side of the First Felon. Massie has nothing to lose now - stop threatening and start doing.

But got 45% of the vote. An incredibly expensive win for the ultra-Magats, all to defeat someone who has voted 99% of the time with Trump. And portions of Massie’s concession speech are well worth viewing. Upbeat, as only a person with a clear conscience can be. He still has a future in politics, unlike some of the die-hard Magats winning tonight (beyond a couple of years).
The Georgia state supreme court races are proving interesting.

Which may mean something in the general election, but unfortunately seems to have been meaningless in the “nonpartisan” statewide judges’ races that were decided today. (There’s a chance one might go to the “Dem” candidate, but I’m not counting on it.)

Though of course Republican-in-waiting turncoat Fetterman held firm in his “beliefs,” affirming his solidarity with the Trumpist cult.
I think the $1.8 billion is to compensate and re-energize the January 6 criminals. Get them geared up to do it again in 2028.
The $1 billion add-on of “security” at the ballroom is to turn it into a fortress with a secure, underground bunker. The chintzy gold sparkle in the ballroom design images is just to distract attention. The point is to build a billion dollar fortress–at taxpayer expense–that Trump and his cronies will use to prevent his removal from the White House at the end of his term.
My current nightmare, this.
I see problems with that plan. It assumes he either runs again in 2028 and is defeated, or just refuses to leave without running again. The US military switches allegiance to the incoming Commander in Chief, so he won’t have the military on his side. He’d need that to avoid being ejected from the bunker. And if he stays in power with a military coup (doubtful), he doesn’t need the bunker.
Also he loves golfing too much to spend the rest of his final days hiding underground.

Bit off topic maybe, but all this slush fund talk makes me think of what others have speculated on. I’m thinking Trump fleeing to, say, Saudi Arabia to live out his days.
I could believe he’d flee to Saudi Arabia if there was any realistic chance of prison before he dies. But between the actuarial tables for his health and age, and the fact that he’s untouchable for the next two and half years, I doubt that will happen. No criminal action could start until after he leaves office, and he’d be dead before it moved through the courts and appeals.
Also he needs to stick around to oversee his final big building project – the obscenely huge Presidential Library tower in downtown Miami.
