In the long run, democracy is best served by showing that no one is above the law. In the short term, Trump as the GOP primary winner for 2024 would be our best bet to hold the Presidency and that would serve democracy as well. But I don’t think Baby Jebus loves us that much and someone else will win the primary. So I’ll take the jailed option.

Today Roger Waters accepted Putin’s invitation to speak to the UN Security Council. It did not go well…
Waters…put on a funny voice for his impression of a diplomat, enacted a lengthy conversation with his dead mother, and claimed to represent the concerns of four billion people in the “voiceless majority” whom, he suggested, held Presidents Biden, Putin, and Zelenskyy equally responsible for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Ukraine was not amused…
Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters was denounced by Ukraine Wednesday after he told the United Nations Security Council that Russia’s invasion of its neighbor was “not unprovoked”…
“The invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation was illegal. I condemn it in the strongest possible terms,” the British musician said via video.
But Waters then implied that Kyiv was to blame as well.
“Also the Russian invasion of Ukraine was not unprovoked. So I also condemn the provocateurs in the strongest possible terms,” he said.
Ukraine’s ambassador to the UN hit back, playing on the title of one of Pink Floyd’s most famous songs.
“How sad for his former fans to see him accepting the role of just a brick in the wall, a wall of Russian disinformation and propaganda,” said Sergiy Kyslytsya.

I know that it may be entertaining for many, but the types of communication these two are offering belong in a hate-fest. They simply approach their targets differently. It’s different styles of fascism, directed policies against targeted out-groups, selected misinformation and very few positive missives to anyone outside of in-groups.
