Live by the dank meme,
die by the dank meme.
Never tried Luck Charms. When I was a kid in the 50s, Trix and Frosted Flakes were hopelessly unsatisfying. Eaten by the by the bowlful drowned in whole milk, a whole box at one sitting was never enough. Trix were 46% sugar then. Maybe they still are. Don’t know how we survived that junk. Don’t have any strong feelings about the rabbit, but I seem to remember a biopic about R. Crumb where he said that as a kid he was sexually attracted to Bugs Bunny. Asked what that was about, he shrugged and said “you tell me”.
We live in a time of governance by profoundly incompetent people not really interested in governing. Putin, for example, has sucked so much out of Russia that he is possibly the richest person on earth (sorry, Elon). Trump 2.0 has been characterized by little else than self-dealing. Politicians facing criminal charges prefer to hide in high office.
I recently saw Ken Russell’s The Devils, a restored film from 1971. Although it has big names like Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave, this weird movie has basically sat in can for 5 decades. The film is based on Aldous Huxley’s 1952 historical novel, The Devils of Loudon, based on actual exorcism and execution events occurring around what was essentially a real-estate fight. This nonsense made little sense to me in my youth. It was a chance to see a bit of pubic hair, but the frenzied circumstances – politically engineered – seemed distant and unrelatable. Today, the sexy stuff seems mild but the horror of bad politicians is extremely familiar. O tempora, o mores.
What a shame!

Obama is SO good at this!
“The Saddam Hussein thing didn’t bother him. But he was very upset about the Cheesecake Factory,” Obama said. “I mean, it’s all crazy, but this is the crazy part: they mobilized a whole government response to that joke.
“The White House even called the secretary of the treasury,” the former president continued. “The guy who is trying to figure out how to lower inflation … they told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory.”
MSNOW ran him live last night during Lawrence O’Donnell’s show. Might have been showing on Jen Psaki’s show, but I was watching the Brewers win the World Series so I was a little distracted.
And they are State charges, so the First Felon is powerless to protect them.
Are they on Substack yet?
The fact that his campaign staff is trying to distance themselves from Ramaswamy and his ad is a sign that they believe he’s a lost cause and they need to distance himself from him ASAP if they want a future in politics.
X has a report that Ramaswamy’s people found Amy Action’s mother living in a car in Pennsylvania and that she wasn’t well when they approached her to make the ad.
The post from X:
My favorite was Capt’n Crunch back in the 70s. As a bonus, the boxes came with a toy whistle that emitted a tone at a frequency of 2,600hz. That frequency happened to be an admin code for the AT&T telephone system. So if you blew that whistle into you phone, you could get free long distance calls at a time Ma Bell charged by the minute.
Capt’n Crunch sliced the shit out of the roof of my mouth!
