So every week we hear about more senior Republicans that Trump told about his seditious schemes, and who have stayed silent for all these months.
And we see more “journalists” who kept this information quiet so they could make money from book deals, rather than coming forward in real time to disclose information about plots to overthrow the government.
I’m not sure whether the politicians or members of the media are more irresponsible and contemptible.

I’m so fed up that Dump even has the ability to generate stories when he should be in a place where he is never to be seen or heard from again. I’ve really just been trying to like wrap my head around what the f*ck has happened in our country and on our planet. We have a war going on between Ukraine and Russia right now, the U.S. was pretty much compromised by Russia and we are still trying to get justice for a hacked election in 2016 (we all know it was), and we still can’t indict anyone or arrest anyone. There are countless corrupt people that are still part of our DOJ, part of the FBI, and part of the CIA.
It is maddening that our own government, the military, and top agencies were able to be gutted by a foreign power. I still can’t wrap my head around what exactly has happened. Why the Lauren Boeberts and the Marjorie Taylor Greens even exist and why they’re able to serve on committees right now. Anyone who has participated in an insurrection against their own country should be locked up and jailed immediately, but the powers that be can’t seem to hold accountable those that need to be held accountable.
The two Michigan GOPers did not play along. Mike Shirkey knew that Trump lost because he lost the votes of suburban women around Detroit…

I understand your feelings, but I believe that if we had the kind of ostentatious investigative dealings with Trump, the GOP and TrumpWorld that so many of us crave (incuding myself) and which would have stunning and entertaining leaks and politicians postulating, it may not go as well as the process needs to be, in terms of S.O.P. and security of the process.
Some are, but some are learning about things through later interviews and research. I don’t know about these authors, they would have to lay out when they learned this information…my guess is this wasn’t real time, it would have come out before this if it was.
Any time a public official has an interest in a vote, they are supposed to recuse themselves. These Republicans knew what Trump did, were informed of it, maybe gave information or advice. That puts them close enough that they were unable to give an outside opinion on the matter, so they should not have participated in the vote. And, there should be a standard, that’s a flaw in the system that should be fixed for all public officials.

Seems to me that some small insignificant part of this must be … umm… illegal… worth investigating and holding those concerned accountable. But here in America we have two justice systems. One we know about, it’s for regular folk. The other is for the untouchables. Especially trump who for whatever reason must never be held to account. Guilty as sin but untouchable. He admits it and does not care.
