Trump Ignites Yet Another Racist Conspiracy Theory, Aimed This Time At Kamala Harris | Talking Points Memo

Well, he’s still dancing with the one what brung him, isn’t he? And the cowardly piece of shit is just asking questions and yes he’s heard that and the lawyer is very respected and he’ll look at it. Piece of absolute shit. But this is a society where racism is such a front-burner topic that even the racists get hopping mad when you call them racists and accuse you of being the racist because you’re talking about race. Trump is chaining himself to his base and making the rest of us, who happen to be the majority, profoundly disgusted with his reflexive vileness. Have fun reading your lawyer’s book, Donald, and drop dead. Sir.

Newsweek has denied claims that the op-ed is tied to birtherism. Global editor-in-chief Nancy Cooper and opinion editor Josh Hammer said in an editor’s note that Eastman’s essay has ā€œno connection whatsoeverā€ to the false claims made about Obama, adding that the issues raised by Eastman were not meant to deny facts or making false claims.

ā€œNo one is questioning Harris’ place of birth or the legitimacy of an obviously valid birth certificate,ā€ the editors wrote.

Next week Newsweek plans to detail the suspicions by some experts Harris is protecting a pedophile ring being run out of Joe Biden’s basement. They’re not saying there’s any validity to it, but it deserves to be looked at.

So now is the time to re-litigate the 14th Amendment? After Ted Cruz?
Newsweek digs its own grave with irresponsible journalism.

Which may just be enough people to pander to when it comes to eking out an Electoral College win. The Founders didn’t believe the will of the majority mattered.

Kamala Harris should have a news conference, with a blow-up of her birth certificate, along with the relevant section from the Constitution, in yuge letters.

Don’t give Trump any oxygen on this.

Umm, doesn’t he mistakenly believe his father was an immigrant?

You’re an interesting person. Absolutely the most optimistic pessimist I can think of.

I must thank Trump for laying this landmine. Now that he has brought this racist trope into the light – let us hear the senators up for reelection defend it.

Disagree. Treat that op-ed with the universal contempt it drew. She was born in Oakland. She’s a citizen. Period.

What a pathetic futile gesture, it didn’t work against Obama, it sure as heck ain’t gonna work agains Harris.

the abomination continued:

ā€˜not only are some saying she’s not eligible, but she’s very Nasty. So, Nasty and Not eligible. That’s what some are saying and I don’t know if it’s true, nor do I care, because I’ve heard she’s Nasty and Not eligible.’

Sen. Harris to Trump - ā€œUnindicted co-conspirator says what?ā€

She doesn’t meet the requirements??!

She appears to me to be an accomplished, intelligent and decent person. That would only conflict with the GOP requirements. For the non-fascist party, she’s a great VP candidate.

Newsweek has really gone off the deep end. They deserve to go into bankruptcy. They already are ethically and morally lost, so it really isn’t much of a change, though. Push back against anyone who presents this issue as something that needs to be discussed. Do not let the President change the narrative.

167,000 US citizens have died of covid-19, with estimates of 100,000 of those deaths due to President Trump’s decisions and actions. Think about that, he is responsible for 100,000 deaths. That’s more than the US lost in WW I (53,000), the Korean War (I know Police Action) (33,000), Vietnam war (47,000) and is closing in on the US Civil War (US Army 140,000, Confederate Army 94,000, total 214,000) and WW II (291,000). President ā€œBone Spursā€ is a lethal weapon, unfortunately against US citizens.

And I’ll wager that the numbers are in reality higher than what is announced owing to Republican efforts at the state level and agency leadership positions to lowball as much as they can get away with.

Now, he’s acting in an impeachable manner by stating that he’s willing to negotiate with the House regarding funding for elections in the midst of a pandemic? He’s corrupting the census to favor his political party and now this? Voting is the right of every citizen of this country - it is NOT negotiable. Impeach his ass out of office and let him join ā€œI’ve got a Dealā€ on FOX Network once he gets out of prison. Negotiate for our right to vote? Is he serious?

And he’s bring back another ā€œgoodieā€? Birtherism? Really? Stay on message. Use the facts against the President.

And the Republican Party stays quiet. They are next… Their silence is complicity, and they too are responsible (more so in my thinking) as they cold have stopped the President. They simply used him as cover to accomplish what they wanted with the hope of future plausible denial. No way.

Brung him where? The last time he danced to this tune, the object of his smear was elected POTUS. Twice.

Bring it.

Fat boy repeats himself. He’s repeating on me too. The whole QAnon things is for people that just won’t admit he’s dumb as a rock.

That and the Protestant conflation of money and moral worth.

Realism is commonly mistaken for pessimism. I find it happens most often when someone doesn’t want to confront that an unpleasant hypothetical situation is very much in the realm of possibilities. ā€œOh, you’re just being a pessimist!ā€ I remember similar barbs launched in Michael Moore’s direction when he predicted Trump’s victory in 2016…
