Trump: ‘I Like To Obey The Law’ | Talking Points Memo

Both Pompeo and Pence are card-carrying members of the American Taliban, Stephen Miller is a Nazi, and Jared is a Netenyahu/Saudi syncophant and they are the only ones who have Trump’s ear these days, having expelled all the other advisors from the WH.
Add to that Trump’s Malignant Narcissism and the Binary Thinking it imparts to him and he only gets two choices presented to him (on the Golf Course of course):

  1. Bomb Iran for Jesus and become an Evangelical Rambo-Hero to the Cheering Masses.
  2. Pursue a Diplomatic Solution and be labeled a Sniveling Coward (like Obama.)

For a Moronic, Cowardly Adolescent like Trump, which one do you think he chooses?

“they’re allowed to kill our people, they’re allowed to maim our people, they’re allowed to blow up everything that we have”

I am not aware of Iranians killing or blowing up anything in the US. I do know the US killing and blowing up things in other countries, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Iraq, Afghanistan & Syria come to mind. Now if the Iranians blow up a cultural center of the US like Mar-a-Lago or the Trump Tower I will reconsider.

Trump is a sadist, and he wants to cause antagonists pain. He doesn’t understand the rage his proposed vandalism would create around the world. He doesn’t understand that this is a shared global heritage, not something only the Iranians appreciate. He doesn’t understand that we have no particular quarrel at the moment with the Persians of centuries past. And for all his life this god-damn lying vulgarian has had about as much appreciation for art and preservation as a vulture on a garbage scow:

Over time, the 15-foot tall limestone relief panels, depicting nearly nude women dancing, at the top of the Fifth Avenue facade, became a “Bonwit Teller signature”.[2] Donald Trump, who purchased the building thanks to Genesco’s CEO John L. Hanigan,[4] wanted to begin demolition in 1980. Trump “promised the limestone reliefs” to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. When they were “jackhammered” “to bits” the act was condemned.[2] Through a spokesman named “John Baron”—who turned out to be Trump himself[5]—Trump said that his company had obtained three independent appraisals of the sculptures, which he claimed had found them to be “without artistic merit.”[6] An official at the Metropolitan Museum of Art disputed the statement, stating: “Can you imagine the museum accepting them if they were not of artistic merit? Architectural sculpture of this quality is rare and would have made definite sense in our collection.”[6] In addition to the relief panels, the huge Art Deco nickel grillwork over the entrance to the store, which had also been promised to the museum, disappeared.[7] Again masquerading as his own spokesman “John Baron,” Trump said, “We don’t know what happened to it.”[7]

You know, I wish had your confidence that his vestigial brain would be able to make a fine-grained distinction like the one between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Still, you’re right that Mashhad is more likely. And just as suicidal.

supposed to be very careful with their cultural heritage.

Someone with a broader, less parochial worldview (for example, thankfully, the folks who authored the Geneva conventions) might take the position that cultural heritage has value to all of humanity, past present and future, and should not be a pawn in the silly political argument of the moment. But for Trump it will always be “mine” versus “theirs”. He sees no value in what is “theirs”.

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.

“Trump: ‘I Like To Obey The Law’”

And he’s honest, too (just ask him, he’s the chosen one.)

If he wants to blow something up, may I suggest Mar-A-Lago? After he’s invited his whole klan, including their spouses, there, of course.

Why didn’t anyone ever tell me obeying the law was only optional??? All the opportunities I’ve missed over the years trying to do the right thing.

As if we didn’t already know Trump considers himself above the law.

Just wanted to pull this statement out and see it again. Yes, that’s what makes these sites important.

He is truly a monster.

Just to state the obvious - he does not understand the concept of a common humanity. That’s where he becomes terrifying.

Thank your for reminding me. I’d been forgetting about that. He’s like the child sadist who pulls wings off flies. Whatever is abhorrent and hurtful to people with more education and social status than he has is what he always will want to do.

Don, you wouldn’t know the law if you paid it $130,000 to rub up against you.

The thing is, I’ve known a lot of builders, and living in a history-minded area most of them are very attentive to preservation and so forth. (Local and federal law helps them maintain their attention.) Trump seems to be actively hostile to it. He’s just uniquely awful.

If so the Iranian terrorist sleeper cell in Kentucky is gonna retaliate by firebombing one of our most prized cultural sites … Noah`s Ark in Kentucky. Along with Noah and the kids, two juvenile T. rex will die along with hopefully one turtle.
