Trump Hotels Not Housing Medical Workers | Talking Points Memo

Despite the White House’s praise for the thousands of hotels across the country that are housing healthcare workers at the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Trump’s own hotels reportedly aren’t participating in the effort.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://talkingpointsmemo.com/?p=1304658

“They did not volunteer, and we did not ask them,” Frank Rollason, the head of emergency management for the fire department in Florida’s Miami-Dade County — which is home to Trump’s Doral resort — told the Post.

When pigs fly before the TrumpCrimeFamily will volunteer to help others!
Note that the Trump family stole from their own charity, which was ordered to dissolve!

While the TrumpCrimeFamily did not volunteer to help on housing medical workers…
SIL Kushner was too eager to charge rent to his tenants and get a Covid Bailout $$$!

They will not volunteer. That requires empathy. They have none. Not a drop. They do not care about you. A bit.

Do you hear that, MAGA’its?

How is this a story, TPM?

The same thing is happening to hotels all over the country and all over the world, but we need to see this story on Trump properties - you know, the ones he should’ve divested himself from some three years ago?

You want me to feel sorry about this? Angry about this? What? What’s your point in this story and why are you expecting people to pay for this site when this is what you’re covering?

Why not cover what the other hotel chains are doing, other than Trump’s tweet thanking them for their service? Why not cover at what expense they’re offering this service and how it’s being received?

Why must every ever-loving story have something to do with Trump??? G-d, we criticize the MSM for all Trump all the time, but has this infected TPM as well?

Where are the stories about Biden, Pelosi? Cuomo gets a little coverage but only when hammering the President for his inaction.

I’m sorry (maybe not), but I’m getting frustrated with all Trump all the time. And this just was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Only trying their best to keep us riled up 24/7. They seem to like to cover the all encompassing news of the moment and all else falls by the wayside. This is the easy stuff to cover and do any of us suspect tRump hotels would be doing otherwise?

“The Post — which reached out to the Trump Organization and to officials in five cities that where a Trump hotel and a hotels-for-medical personnel program are located — noted that the President-owned company could have possibly offered hotel rooms to medical workers in private transactions without notifying local officials.”

… or notifying the media, or without announcing it at one of his daily televised campaign events.

Because he’d definitely want to keep something like his first decent and real act of social responsibility a secret.

For a very simple reason, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, healthcare workers just don’t have the greenbacks to afford even 5 minutes in one of his fleabags. Therefore until he can figure out how to charge the Feds 2500% the normal rate will not see a HC worker even cross the threshold.

He is still working out the details of the grift like whether to hike prices by 400% or only 350%

Can’t we be excited about something else? Like the story I saw where Biden is already considering naming his transition team? Like the States that are working furiously to move toward expanding mail in voting programs? Like the three sets of pact-States in the mid-Atlantic, midwest and west coast that are managing their re-opening in a careful and considered way?

Like the story this morning where the head of the RNC has irresponsibly made no plans to delay or re-organize the RNC convention in Charlotte, unlike the DNC which is delaying Milwaukee and trying to make safe plans for their delegates?

I don’t need to continually be told that Trump is evil. He tells me that every single day. There’s other stuff going on. Where is it???

In fairness, most of the rooms have already been booked by Russian, Chinese, and KSA spies into January. With an option for four additional years.

And they respond to emails.

So we’ll crawl over broken glass, hot coals and flowing molten lava to vote against Trump?

Certainly there’s good and bad in all of us, and I can always find something good even in someone I despise. But, honestly, with Trump, I’m struggling. Is there any redeeming quality in him whatsoever?

I’m as sick of trumPP stories as anyone but the point of this reporting I think lies here. It’s hypocrisy on a grand scale. The moron is taking credit where none is due him and he’s a selfish unthinking SOB but wants people to think he’s generous, kind and caring.

“Thank you to hotels around the country for providing healthcare workers and first responders a place to stay while they’re on the front lines of the pandemic,” the White House’s Twitter account wrote on April 5.

That tweet exemplified the contrast between Trump’s words and the Trump Organization’s actions. In the tweet, the White House linked to a story about Hawaii’s program — dubbed “[Hotels for Heroes]**

(‘Hotels for Heroes’ program to house medical workers, first responders)” — which has put medical personnel up in 33 hotels around the state.

@emiliano4 The author of the report is on the trumPPworld beat every day. I’ve let her know how I feel, but the details of the story show the selfishness and hypocrisy of the moron in chief.

If you asked him, he’d probably tell about the time he let an African American woman out of prison early, but that was at a Kardashian’s urging, y’know, the original tits and ass Barbie doll whom he could ogle while the deal was underway.

This may seem tangential to your post, but here is an answer to TPM poster @darcy , who expressed some fatigue with Trump-hate articles in another thread

["It looks cavalier, but there is wisdom in your words, with respect to the articles whose actual purpose is to get the reader to say “I hate Trump/I love Trump”, depending on whether or not one is on Nate’s 538 top line or bottom line.

Trump is a cash-cow.

He is the Howard Cosell** of politics and people make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ every time his name comes up.

My concern with Trump, however, is one which is not reported on very much…and that is the extent to which his very presence in the Oval Office is killing people in ways which are wrecking our social structures and actual necessary interconnections .

  • clerks
  • factory workers
  • health professionals and health systems
  • United States Post Office
  • delivery structures adjacent to the above elements

and more

Right now, Moscow McConnell, by maintaining Trump in Office, is damaging this country in multiple ways.

** Years ago, Howard Cosell was voted the most popular TV personality
and the most unpopular."]
