As a parent, i cannot imagine the terror and desperation she must have felt. It’s hard enough to nurse a child through an ordinary round of flu -when they are miserable but theres nothing much you can do. I literally cannot imagine trying to stave off death with frozen vegetables.
And i haven’t had to, because i grew up in the age of vaccines.
You had to fill up the little trays and freeze, so the vegetables were like ice packs and you could refreeze them.
Throw in the no AC back then. Oy!
eta: Got measles and chicken pox too leading to shingles 15 years ago. The places the rash was still itch to this day when I think about it. I was exhausted for a good 4 months.
