Emboldened by Donald Trump’s blatantly anti-trans, Islamophobic and racist campaign to successfully secure a second term in the White House and a Republican trifecta, GOPers have been using their time ahead of the 119th Congress to launch new and unprecedented attacks against their will-be colleagues on the other side of the aisle. This is one of the central pillars of Trumpism: permission granted for the worst behavior humanity may possess but is otherwise restrained from displaying in a civil society; thus does the social order decay.
“The big joke on democracy is that it gives its mortal enemies the tools to its own destruction.” – Josef Goebbels
With the backing of the exact same churches that started the Civil War and maintained apartheid for 100 years after that war, unlimited money in government, and an evangelical owned media monopoly in Red states, the GOP has been characterizing those who disagree with them as child killers and child rapists, and they’ve been doing it for the last 20 years.
They are doing everything it takes to divide this country along religious-nationalist lines while weaponizing the parts of this country their leadership has failed for 150 years and could not exist without Federal largesse provided by the parts of this country that actually do make money.
It is a fraud from soup to nuts, and every piece of white trash that has floated into our government has been sponsored to the hilt, providing they use hatred as a way of maintaining control over an uneducated and inferior class of moral zombies.
That always bothers me when I see a take like that. For those embolden, yep, they will step past societal norms and create discord. But for the rest of society, we stay who we are. Our social order is still in place and even if we have to counter these people, we will do so as the people we are.
Yes but the institutions supporting our free ability to do so become weakened or suborned; e.g., hard to maintain normalcy if normalcy is declared anathema or illegal
If only the Apostle Paul were alive today, an epistle from him to the evangelical churches of America would be in dire order.
Of all of the unbelievable things I have witnessed in this last few decades, the weirdest might be watching a significant portion of Jewish people start to emulate Nazis. If this offends someone I am sorry, but it is becoming hard for me to see it any other way.
Who cares what some liberal cuck has to say?
No, that man was a jack ass.
The Hebrew Hammer? More like the Jewish Jagoff.
Normalcy has been gone for 8 years now with a some return over the last four. And it is about to get weird and uncomfortable again. This could become more vicious, more discordant. But that is why keeping who we are intact is so important.
They can claim it anything they like. We do not have to play. It might be painful, but the right things often are. These people are the worse people on the planet, we do not have to be them.
Head on down the road, it’s a mere hoot and a holler to Damascus!
This is all a voluntary exercise.
This obsession with where other people do or don’t get to pee can only be described as perverse.
They are supported by evangelicals in America that believe all Jews will spend eternity in a firey pit.
That’s the level. It’s all bullshit.
Hey TPM – Isn’t it about time you stopped posting links to HateX?
A screen shot makes the same point if you absolutely must share shitposts from there.
Nancy Mace doesn’t need emboldened. Her hatred is an inherent part of her personality, which is why she resembles Michele Bachmann a bit more every single day.
Absolutely.
How do we know Nancy Mace is a biological female? Hmmmm?
“Surprise, surprise, surprise!”

Shazzam! Who could have predicted a bunch of Rethugliklan assholes would behave like … well, a bunch of Rethugliklan assholes?
