Really, this is the best policy. If you’re looking for danger at a circus, don’t focus on the clowns, look out for the elephants. The smartest reporting will be on the actions of the middle levels of the administration. That is, the people who will have to get the horrible stuff done.

When I had my initial clearance, the FBI called my mother at 6 am, saying that they were at my address, but the apartment was vacant. My mother told the agent I moved to the DMV a month ago. Silence for three seconds, then “Oh, okay.” Same thing with my stepmother – I worked with her company one summer, which was out of business a decade later. Agent wanted to know where everyone was (also called at 6 am). Stepmom asked the agent to call her back in an hour and she would get him the information he needed.

This year is a big year for AI. AI can, for example, review movies. In 2019, you could read an article on how to write a Roger Ebert movie review that was aimed at budding human critics. Today, you can find reviews written by AI (most likely ChatGPT) on the Roger Ebert site.
I get the sense listening to the drool coming out of some some of the senator remarks this morning could have just as easily been written by the robot. Certainly, 99% of what Grassley said could be anticipated and styled by generative AI. Right down to the use of “folks”. It’s just synthetic theater. Even Kim Il Sung, perhaps the most boring writer and public speaker of the last century, occasionally could say something interesting. He likely used ghost writers and editors extensively, but his crutches at least were human.

You know, I know it makes for great clickable headlines all this shit posting. But what would be really helpful is figuring out how to hang onto institutional knowledge that will certainly be lost under the fat fuck and how do we find our way back to the norms that held us together for 240 years. Or does no one care anymore? Are we just going to accept a kleptocracy without question? is no one fighting back? And I mean really up for a fucking fight? Or is all this left wing hand wringing just more of the same impotent performative politics Democrats have been playing for decades now?

Just popping in to remind people to practice whatever self-care works best for you. Just because Congressional Republicans have all agreed to drink from the murky street puddle and back these historically awful nominees doesn’t mean you need to inflict the same kind of psychic damage on yourselves. Go visit your local library, invite a friend out/over for a meal, volunteer with a local charity, hit the gym–you’re worth it.

Apparently Mace was seen a few weeks ago during one of her performative stunts whispering to an aide or colleague in effect “Hey I got this, it makes for some good footage for the media ecosystem”. So it’s all an act for her to raise her profile so to speak and she ought to be called out.
I wonder if the Citadel ever gave her an honorary degree. If they did maybe it should be rescinded. Then again it’s the Citadel. Heck maybe Bob Jones university would grant her one.

Wikipedia says he has seven children, which is the number I’ve heard or read elsewhere. Also according to Wikipedia, he has 3 sons by his second wife. While still married to her, he had a daughter by the Fox news woman, the Jenny who brought him back to Jesus, whom he later married. She brought 3 children from her previous marriage(s?), so I guess the number 7 = 4 biological children, 3 stepchildren. Of course, there may be other children he doesn’t even know about. One of my cousins has had 5 or 6 or maybe 7 wives/live-in partners and many other sexual “relationships,” at least one of which produced a child he only learned about many years later. (She used Ancestry.com to track him down.)
