President Trump endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) over Sen. John Cornyn (R) in the Texas Senate primary runoff Tuesday after months of waffling. The endorsement, a week before the primary election and a day into early voting, seems to have come as a surprise to at least one of the candidates. Cornyn said…

Thank you, President Trump!

This appears to be good news for Talarico. However, Texas voters can never be underestimated. Sending a lowlife such as Paxton to the Senate isn’t entirely out of the realm for that state.

I think Rtump is feeling emboldened by getting rid of Bill Cassidy, without paying any heed to the fact that Texas is a different environment from Louisiana.

I hope Paxton wins the nomination because it gives Talarico a better shot at winning. Not much of a shot, but at least a possibility. And if Paxton become a senator, so what? He’ll be like all the rest of the GOP senators, corrupt and out to touch. One exception of course is Susan Collins. She remains concerned.

In all seriousness, Attorney General is a low-profile position and those races don’t get a lot of attention from normie Texas voters. Paxton is going to have volumes of shit dumped on him (by outside money) for the next six months that he has never encountered before.

Is Talarico a lock against Paxton? No, it’s still Texas. But the endorsement improves Talarico’s chances, and I’m getting close to thinking of James as the favorite.

If Paxton were to become the junior senator from Texas, he would immediately be in the race for Most Hated, giving Rafael a break.

“I just don’t like to say it because I don’t like to brag.”

Said without an ounce of irony because, among all the things Trump has killed, irony is up there on the list. Self awareness is adjacent.

Paxton’s indictment, well there you go, crooks of a feather, blah, blah, blah!

We could call it a tie, but Paxton is coming in a rookie. Cruz has vet status. Paxton better hit the ground running.

Cornyn doesn’t need my advice, but he should run on this slogan: “President Trump says John Cornyn is “a good man,” but Ken Paxton is a criminal, an adulterer and a slimeball.”

Cornyn and his supporting PACs are vastly outspending Paxton in advertising, and that’s been his message all along. It isn’t working.

It’s a Gehrig/Mantle situation, for sure. I would say that Ted’s oily repulsiveness is the result of a lot of hard work, whereas Paxton was just born with that raw skill set.

When in doubt, who is the bigger crook? Why that would be Ken Paxton.

I do not understand your Yankees allusion.

Did you mean DiMaggio/Mantle?

I just read a comment that Cornyn has come out against Trump’s ballroom project. Cornyn might as well salvage some dignity in his remaining few months in office.
