Trump Election Attorney To Testify Before Fulton County Grand Jury - TPM – Talking Points Memo

She can’t immunize him from his state peril?

Mornings on Horseback about Teddy Roosevelt was one I could not put down. I have not read John Adams but it’s on my list.

How sad. He was a great writer, but I loved his narrative style. Sitting in a restaurant in DC many years ago, and I heard a voice from behind me that had to be him. I didn’t interrupt his dinner, but that voice was pretty unmistakeable. His book on the Brooklyn Bridge fascinated me. R.I.P.

But they love him on the teevee. He’s so unctuous and lawyerly and all that.

If anything he says could be used against him in a federal criminal case, he can exercise his 5th A right to not speak.

Will be difficult for so many people to all keep their stories the same … unless of course they’re truthful

Not to mention, given past performances of the MAGA crowd, undeniable plausibility!

Even if he gets state-level immunity.

Something I wonder about is going forward how difficult it will become to get criminal convictions out of a jury for crimes like this elector scheme. I think we can agree there are more deluded citizens in this nation than at any point in history. I’d venture 30%>%40 of people are flat out off their rocker, clinically disturbed with all their conspiratorial deep state beliefs. It has to become more and more difficult to assemble and vet a jury pool with any assurance you end up with 12 people and not one of them is insane, and slips by you as a prosecutor.

The attorney who penned memos arguing that the Trump campaign should create fake slates of electors after losing the 2020 election will appear before a Georgia grand jury later this month.

I understand that he plans to bring his own fake panel of grand jurors.

I think the idea here is that anything he blabs to a GA Grand Jury could be used against him in a Federal case, if the “peril” overlaps in both cases…

Oh, this is sad. He was my favorite historian, and my particular favorite was about Theodore Roosevelt, Mornings on Horseback.

I wonder how well trump sleeps, does he think about his various legal troubles much?

Regarding the “Who Will Be in the Vanguard of Election Prosecutions” office pool…

Who had Fulton County, Georgia? That’s going to be quite a payoff…

Oh yes, the Brooklyn Bridge, and The Path Between The Seas, about the Panama canal.

Looked across at a bookshelf and saw Adams and Truman. Also read Roosevelt.

I adore Mornings, and here’s a strange but true bit of trivia. I grew up on East 20th St. in Manhattan, moved to an outer borough later, but Roosevelt also grew up on East 20th St. The house is now open to visitors.
