From Garrett Graff’s piece on the Qatari 747: “American media utterly failed yesterday in explaining the sheer illegality, unconstitutional and corrupt nature of this deal.”
They’ve been utterly failing in many ways for a long time but this one increased that utter failure exponentially. At some point one has to declare our major media officially dead. Stick a fork in 'em dead. They are unable to report the plainest and most undeniable facts. What this means in effect is that they have climbed up on to the Trump bandwagon as free public relations agents.

I was in Rock Creek Park, where they went swimming, near Peirce Mill, a couple of weeks ago. I commented to the colleague I was with that the water was a very unhealthy color–black.
There’s a reason why sewage is called blackwater in English and “aguas negras” in Spanish. Because it is.

Um, Trump isn’t subject to U.S. laws, the Constitution, government ethics requirements, or the Emoluments Clause. Sheesh, sooner or later people will get all that through their thick skulls. Maybe after his election to a third term people will realize this.

I’m not so sure. I’m discovering that I can be bored and consumed with rage, disgust and horror at the same time. Those latter three haven’t gone away but now boredom has joined them on a consistent basis.
