I have yet to hear of a case in which the government claims to have cracked the encryption of a Signal chat, but no amount of encryption will protect a sequence of text messages if one of the participants actively turns them over to law enforcement.

Oh, no, wait - it has literally NONE of that, or anything like it.
What it really is: A long, impassioned bit of feminist literary and film criticism.
It starts out with a lengthy discussion of Ursula Le Guin’s essay All Happy Families (the horror! A woman author!!11!!!) and moves on to an extended discussion of film-maker Ari Aster.
Lewis argues that Aster’s work “may well be one of the most radically feminist interventions of twenty-first century cinema.”
Lewis is a writer and queer communist theorist - which appears to be the real crime going on here.
So . . . this bit of film criticism is the evidence that is getting people thrown in the slammer as terrorists.
Frankly disgusting.

Traditional conservatives in the U.S. always seem to connect Christianity with market capitalism as something blessed by Jesus. I think it derives from the very old concept, perhaps from Puritanism, that wealthy individuals are that way because of their good offices and God’s favor. Neither opposition to Christianity nor to market capitalism are offenses punishable by anti-terror laws, and the sooner the courts make this clear, the better. Though I have no doubt some God-forsaken judges will rule the opposite way.
