In all sincerity, this is ominous. The most benign explanation I can think of is that he feels he needs to be in the White House to shore up support for the coup. The explanation I fear more is that he’s fixing to bomb Iran. I can’t think of any other reason he would skip out on the NYE Bribeapalooza.

Me neither, I thought he’d sulk at Mar a Lago. I guess he wants to be close to the action next week, call some R’s over to the WH to be yelled at.
It might also be because his Oval Office-in Exile stage set for TV rants isn’t finished at Mar a Lago yet. The WH is a better setting if he’s doing any more televised appearances. (/puts on tinfoil hat) And of course it’s a necessary setting if he’s gonna bomb Iran next week just for kicks.(/takes off tinfoil hat).

That’s old news from the Bush-Cheney years. He has never indicated that he has the slightest interest in foreign wars. It’s not his thing - he is a Nativist.
He is more concerned with what happens on the 6th in Congress and that’s why he came back.
