If you didn’t notice, this happened like an hour ago. Patience, they’ll be speaking about it.
Why are people telling me that some fucking reality TV star from the 90s is still my president, if he can’t even act presidential for the cameras?
Of course they will, but the question is how and with what force and effect? They still come across as mewling do-gooders who don’t understand why Trump is so mean and hope he changes his mind. It’s a sheep before the slaughter approach that’s infuriating. They have to go on the offense and to hell with fears that it’ll look or be accused of being partisan. This is about bad governance and peoples’ lives, which is not partisan. Dems just won’t take the lead. They need to act like we don’t have a president.
Can Trump’s cabinet be sued for not exercising the 25th amendment?
I’m just trying to think outside the box at this point.
“The House is a bunch of Trump haters,” the President told reporters
Well now, what intelligent life form isn’t
Because the instant Trump does a thing, it’s time to bash the Democrats.
Whether they can compel testimony is in the courts where it’s been languishing for months.
Not much the Democrats can do about that problem until the courts finally come through with something.
No one but you has made such a ridiculous claim.
If you want the Dems to go off half-cocked the way Trump does, you are in for some disappointment.
MSM should overlay a chicken clucking when he answers questions concerning oversight.
You only think the claim is ridiculous because you refuse to acknowledge the power of false premises. “Come to the Dark Side, Thunderclap.”
“The House is a bunch of Trump haters,” the President told reporters on the White House lawn before leaving for Arizona. “They put every Trump hater on the committee, the same old stuff.”
Tripping.
Guess that’s why I’m not a Republican—or a member of “Our Revolution.”
Right now he does, yes. But Fauci is (a) an intelligent man (understatement!), and (b) a human being with free will. He does not have to be owned if he chooses not to. The arguments for staying on Trump’s team are deteriorating by the day. Trump sides with protesters, Trump encourages states to reopen, Trump lies about Fauci’s early advice. I don’t see that Fauci currently has much influence with Trump.
So, I would hope that Fauci respects the will of Congress and chooses to testify. Failing to do so strengthens the argument that Fauci for some reason chooses to enable Trump’s political agenda.
It’s all friends and enemies now.
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you’re always afraid
This old Buffalo Springfield lyric describes Trump to a Tee.
The proper response to this is laughter. Pure, unadulterated ridicule. Videos of that toddler throwing a tantrum with Trump’s head superimposed on the body.
I’m not so sure Fauci’s testimony or lack thereof matters much. Every single public figure in the United States today understands the terms of the debate. We do it right and take the economic costs, or we do it wrong, and take the economic costs. Fauci can certainly testify. I imagine it would go like this:
Q: What should we do?
A: Lots more testing.
Q: We’re not doing enough now?
A: No.
Q: Whose fault is that?
A: It doesn’t really matter now.
I think we overvalue, if only slightly, the good that can be done yelling at Trump. We don’t lack for people yelling at Trump. The Democrats’ job is to represent a sane path forward from the mess we’re in. I’m not sure pseudo-dramatic one-news-cycle-winning events like Fauci testifying make much difference, and I’m not thirsting for endless “Oh yeah? Yeah!” between the Dems and the Trumpers. They set themselves up for criticism just fine. We’re in a new place since a few helpful remarks made by Trump himself just days ago. In a rational world of course Fauci would testify, but that’s not the world we’re in. Anyone who wants to know his thoughts can go to the government employee phone listings. But there’s no mystery he holds the key to. It’s pure politics at this point. That’s insane, but I repeat myself.
I have been doing my own magical thinking, in that I am wondering if Trump stopped his daily therapy session because he could actually sense the hatred and scorn pouring out of people like the denizens of TPM. If only we had something like a giant magnifying glass to focus our loathing…
That is NOT why Trump kept Fauci from testifying. That’s just the excuse and as usual the MSM is parroting as real. Stupid they admit but as if it was the real reason. The real reason is he does not want what Fauci knows to be public. This isn’t the first time he’s refused to let folks testify nor is it the first time he’s offered a lame reason for doing so. Trump fears the truth. This is how he keeps it in the closet.
