The problem isnât really Trump or the GOP but the kind of people and forces they are, that preceded both and will outlive both. Evil, corruption, exploitation, dishonesty, etc., are part of the human condition, inextricable from it. If we got rid of both Trump and his party and all memory of them, someone and something like them would emerge in due time. Guaranteed.

Its not just the steady stream of retirements; this pressure on republicans from Trump is going to cause him even more problem going forward. In particular, House (but also some Senate) republicans are getting quite annoyed that they are not included in any WH strategy or even receiving talking points on the impeachment. Trumpâs response? To put them all under a magnifying glass and demand that they blindly defend him.
Look, even if you ARE a big supporter of Trumpâs,. or you are just following along to preserve you seat in a deeply Trump districtâŚits a fool errands to attempt to publicly offer support of this President without talking points. Because everyone has seen, time and time again, he will pull the rug right out from underneath anyone who speaks on his behalf if he decides after the fact that he didnât like it.

The call can be interpreted as not that bad, but this is not about a call and articles like this help the President hide the months-long effort to trade a public declaration of investigating Biden for the prestige of a White House visit and vital military aid authorized by Congress with no strings.
This is about a long-term effort to extort political support form a foreign power, not about one call. The call is what brought it to light, just as the DNC HQ break-in is what brought Nixonâs corruption to light.
