Trump ‘Delusional’ In Foreign Leader Calls | Talking Points Memo

the President was “delusional” in light of his dealings with foreign leaders

Even though I already knew this, reading it somehow makes it worse.

How anyone…anyone…could have voted for him is (and always will be) beyond my comprehension.

How are Members of Congress supposed to “learn the whole story” when a White House famous for lying and stonewalling Congress denies the report entirely and then holds a briefing to get “the facts” out and only invites Republicans to it?

Having served in Afghanistan during the time the alleged bounties were placed, no one is angrier about this than me. Now it’s impossible to finish the investigation. All b/c the

will do anything to damage

, even if it means compromising nat’l security.

Eta. Sure, we’re gonna investigate while our troops are being picked off by Taliban bounty hunters. What horseshit.

Those are rumors designed for Trump to listen to. See if he gets the hint. Down ticket candidates getting nervous, Pence or any other GOP candidate has about the same chance of losing than Trump but would not drag red states candidates down with them.

They obviously talked to some reporters now. Why couldn’t they have talked to reporters then?
They then might have gotten an invitation to talk to the House.

IMHO they already decided trump needs to resign or not run so they can at least keep the Senate. He is insane, though, so he’s not much of a negotiating partner. So they are now actively pushing him under the bus.

I’ve seen a steady drumbeat of negative news for Trump since Impeachment proceedings began in December, 2019, that have and will continue to prevent him from ever gaining a footing during this campaign season.

After Impeachment and the Ukraine extortion scheme broke, we then learned through leaks that he was told about the Coronavirus threat in January, and did nothing. Then we find out how he butchered the entire PPE and ventilator supply issue, with leaks reporting that he sent it to China. Subsequently, Bolton’s book is published and we find out he’s begging China to buy soybeans from swing states as an in-kind campaign contribution, as well as the Erdogan/SDNY issue. Over the weekend, we get the Russia bounty on US soldiers, and now this. And I’m sure I’m leaving out quite a few other items.

This has the markings of a coordinated campaign against Trump that will continue until he resigns or through November to ensure he loses the election. I can only imagine what’s going to drop next.

“…President Trump has shown his ability to advance America’s strategic interests,” Matthews told TPM in a statement. Yeah, right.

No matter how mighty, when you go stupid, you fall. Since November, 2016, America has slipped considerably in the esteem of the rest of the world. Disconcerted was just the beginning. Now there’s disgust. After three-and-a-half years of the Trump presidency, America is not fallen, but headed that way. Americans must redeem themselves in November by voting a ‘soul-satisfying repudiation’ of Trump and his Republican gang. One can hope.

According to a CNN report on Monday, citing White House and intelligence officials familiar with the contents of the conversations, Trump was often unprepared for discussion of serious issues during his calls with foreign leaders — which include those with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Erdogan — and abusive to leaders of America’s principal allies that some senior US officials felt that he posed a danger to national security.

Apparently, the media has simply abandoned objective reporting and is now just telling us what it thinks we want to hear. Apparently, according to the media, there is no level of depravity that Trump has not sunk to and everyone on his White House staff and in his Cabinet is aware of it. And, apparently, they have decided to do this because it won’t make a goddam bit of difference.

Pretty soon tRUmp’s excuse for everything will be that he hasn’t been aware that he’s President.

This (not this guy in particular) is why they briefed the gop first. To grab the narrative…again.

Right… So that they have to wait for more Americans to be murdered to confirm that Russia is behind it is a reason not to do anything.

Fucking Soviet traitors, every one should have their citizenship stripped and be deported. If Russia won’t take them, we’ve got space in Guantanamo.

I had noticed this as well, but it seems pretty far fetched. But he hasn’t had a string of bad news like this previously, and it hasn’t given him a chance to change the subject. I don’t think anyone could have coordinated the stock market crash in March or the failure of his Tulsa rally, but the news in between has all been bad. I still think it’s too far fetched to believe in a coordinated campaign.

This tells me it’s Russia, KSA, Israel, and maybe China on one side trying to influence our election, but this time the Five Eyes and allied Intelligence services, as well as our own, are ready, able, and willing to fight back.

It’s all coming out now. Only a question of Trump’s pain tolerance before he cries uncle. And the Republican Party writ large.

Sources told CNN that the President “regularly bullied and demeaned the leaders of America’s principal allies” such as UK Prime Minister Theresa May and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Gee, think of any reasons why he would be a particular A-hole to those two. Nope. Not one single reason.
