While the nation suffered its highest coronavirus death toll for a single day on Wednesday, President Donald Trump was waging war on democracy and preaching false claims about election fraud to a packed crowd at an indoor Hanukkah party at the White House.
Hanukah, Oh Hanukah,
Come listen to this schnorrer,
He’s throwing us a party
Where we’ll all get corona.
We’ll gather ‘round the table, then share all his tweets,
iPhones to play with and hamberders to eat!
“Because if certain very important people, if they have wisdom and if they have courage, we’re going to win this election in a landslide.”
Could he be talking about five very important people? Personally, I don’t think aiding and abetting Trump in the overthrow of the government is either wise or courageous.
When you start jumping around between alphabets there’s often no agreed-upon spelling. The word “Hanukkah” itself is spelled different ways in English. But I’d add another insult: paskudnyak. It’s the worst insult there is, and means a disgusting, revolting, contemptible person, the absolute lowest of the low. One translation emphasized the person’s cruelty and pleasure taken in causing pain.
