At this point it’s really interesting what’s become of Trump’s celebrity. He’s widely considered a huge failure, and within months he’s become close to irrelevant to the national conversation. These “statements” are like a baby in a high chair throwing a cup to get attention. That doesn’t make the baby influential.
We don’t need to talk about w/e he scribbed on napkins.
Riiiight. It’s only been 402 years since 1619.
LeBron needs to just chill./s
Hence the dribble.
Two Scoops is never going to STFU but TPM has the option to not report his tiresome bullshit quotes.
But they do.
He did jump the gun a bit.
Not the greatest idea to post a picture of a cop with a caption of “you’re next” generally, seems like a lot of threat implied in that.
Especially if the cop ends up being totally cleared by the footage, which makes clear he was saving a life by shooting.
LeBron did the right thing and took it down.
And the Holocaust would grant Jews the right to accuse Democrats of actively plotting the destruction of Israel. And if Democrats have the temerity to push back on the accusations, crying “Auschwitz!!” should suffice to shut them up. Because, you know, Jews have earned the right to toss around unfounded claims.
Fixed it for you.
I agree. He was correct in taking it down but it’s certainly understandable why he posted it in the first place.
I won’t judge him for it and I sure as heck won’t whitesplain.
It’s be OK with me if he drooled as well.
Preferably, he’d find a quiet way to do it in a corner.
Exactly.
One if Trump has thought about writing his thoughts on cue cards, and flipping them for the camera, and posting the video it on TikTok? Sort of a la Bob Dylan and “Subterranean Homesick Blues”, or INXS’ “Mediate”?
LeBron did the right thing and took it down.
Nah, leave it up - keep it in the public’s face.
“seems like a lot of threat implied in that.”
Can’t have that! Irresponsible black man is what you’re implying.
Lot of folks had to eat humble pie after that. All ready to make it the next rallying cry until the footage got out and they had to backtrack on it.
Coming as the incident did, right after the Floyd verdict, it’s certainly understandable that emotions ran high. Context is important.
I take your point – with one caveat: When it comes to holding the state of Israel responsible for its atrocious behavior, the Democrats are no better than the Republicans.
See:
Hundreds of lawmakers said in a letter on Thursday [yesterday] that US aid to Israel must continue without conditions or reduction, pushing back against a recently proposed bill that would ban American assistance from funding human rights abuses against Palestinians.
And:
AIPAC applauded the overwhelming majority of members of the US House of Representatives on Thursday who signed a letter urging US aid to Israel to be fully funded in the federal budget without condition.
“AIPAC”
I’m really sorry but I simply can’t understand the objection against the “divided loyalty” trope when the acronym, AIPAC, is a veritable bull horn of divided loyalty.
Sorry if I’m Goysplaining but I really do not get it.
There’s a very fine line in reacting to a still evolving story.
I’m thinking back to Ms. Frazier and her recording the George Floyd/police encounter. She didn’t live stream it. She went home and thought about it before posting the video. I’m not sure if she saw the Minneapolis PD’s statement on Floyd’s death, or she just needed to show what she saw that day. But she thought before she posted.
MAGAts have no idea what “racist” means
Trump accuses a black person of being racist. Yawn.
