Trump Begrudgingly Following McConnell’s Advice To Lay Off GOP Senators

He is pretty sure that he owns them, lock, stock and barrel. It is like an abusive spouse who is sure that his battered wife won’t testify against him. I certainly hope that he is wrong.

Ha. Ha. Ha. Looks like that MoscowMitch’s ole dog ‘Pivot’ was discovered on the axel of that Access Hollywood bus and it was dead with its eyes open so he thought he could give it a command.
Ha. Ha. Ha.

Moscow Mitch would prefer to act as whip for treason, as he knows that he is much more effective when it comes to the Senate.

Moscow Mitch should ask Vlad to tell Donald.

Shorter McConnell…
“Lay off me.”

I’m hoping he gets laid off :raised_hands:t2:

Yep…

I gotta secret, don’t tell anyone…

The more McConnell interferes at this stage, the greater the likelihood of a blatantly biased Senate trial that will minimize Trump’s wrongdoing and push everything through before the public can respond. Moscow Mitch will do anything to keep Trump in office - he has a pipeline to greater wealth through his cabinet member wife that would be lost. And no more approvals of unqualified conservatives as judges or bad tax and other laws favoring the rich at the expense of everyone else.

Did you miss the [/s] at the end of your post? I’m pretty sure his psychological issues are widely known around the world…

This story begs for snark, I admit.
However…I’ve been trying to imagine this meeting between any POTUS and Senate Majority Leader in history. Nixon was said to have wandered around the WH talking to the portraits, but I can’t imagine a meeting like this. The “bulk of the meeting was focused on Trump’s meandering thoughts about impeachment”? He was convinced to “lay off GOP Senators”? I’m not sure who leaked the details of the meeting (it doesn’t seem to be one of the Dem leadership that he blamed for most of the leaking in DC), but it is just pathetic that we have, as leader of the free world, someone who is so clearly incompetent.
That said, @steviedee111, I’m still hoping that we find out what was actually the motive for pulling out of Syria. There’s no way he did it without a promise of something from someone.

#ditchMoscowMitch is one of 100 Senators. At the end of the day, he can’t control all of them. Some of them would like a semblance of a normal life once they’re voted out of office. Which, for some, will be sooner rather than later (looking at you, Senator Johnson).

As we’ve seen so many times, the psychic pressure caused by telling someone with NPD he has to restrain the compulsion to revenge himself on those who have caused him narcissistic injury by refusing to do exactly what he wants will almost always in less than two weeks, result in an explosion of invective that exceeds prior limits.

This is the carrot. The personal attacks are the stick. Expect to see more of both.

I’m sure he knows it won’t last.

You know who is really getting really annoying in this whole process ? The so called “Talking Heads”," oh they need to do this impeachment thing before Thanksgiving",oh they better do this before next year or they will run into the Iowa caucuses". They were calling for Impeachment now they can’t shut up.

I was watching a former prosecutor on MSNBC last night. She used a phrase I hadn’t heard before, but she dropped it so casually I have to assume it’s the accumulated wisdom of the legal world. She said prosecutors don’t like trials in front of a “Christmas jury” because the spirit of the holidays resulted in more acquitals and lenient treatment of defendants. Hence, in her opinion, it was important to avoid having any important stages of all this fall between Thanksgiving and Christmas, just as a practical prosecutorial matter.

We’ll see. I’ve had many earnest talks with my cat about scratching the couch. They were good conversations. Both sides listening, both sides lowering their defenses and not getting their backs up in the face of respectful criticism and open-hearted expression of innermost feelings, desires, and expectations.

Every day, the same conversation. My patience with her has grown over time, and her trust in me keeps increasing.

Every day, the same fucking conversation.

You just have to let go of certain things.
