Under the current terrible circumstances — pretty good outcome for the Dems (and the country), Dems seen asking for a meeting to reach a bipartisan agreement, Trump agrees then shuts them down because, why? Saving millions of people from ruinous health insurance premium increases is radical and lefty. The 40 percent of the populace that is under a tight right wing censorship bubble won’t get the message but we’ve got a decent shot at the other 60 percent if Dems just pound this message home ----- so pound away, Dems. While you’re at it, start demanding his resignation, constantly. Today’s UN speech was only the latest - but maybe the greatest- demonstration of his lunacy. A total shameful embarrassment for the United States

Why are Dems meeting with them in the first place? Dems have no reason to be involved at all. Let them own killing healthcare for citizens, let them own the cuts to education. Let them fail. Dems need to say, in unison (I know, a pipe dream), that Republicans have absolute and total control all branches of government, so it’s their job, and their problem. Or, in more colorful language, “They have control, its their majority, their circus. If voters want competent government, they can vote a straight blue ticket next election.” When will Dems stop being patsies, ffs?

To be fair…Rs walked away last time and Schumer voted for it (via cloture vote) anyway. Until they show that they’ll follow through, it only makes sense that he’d call their bluff
However, also to be fair (both sides!), that social media post that was mercifully slimmed down for this article does not exude a position of power

Ugly lyin lizard is way past his use-by date, and it’s really showing. Any time he attempts to say anything, like that fiasco about tylenol yesterday, it’s toddler peeing his pants at the talent show time.
They’re running on fumes with anything but screeching and hate. Granted they’ve gone far on those, but I’m not sure how much more there’s left. Dems damn sure better not back up one fucking millimeter. He has a majority in both houses, and he can’t keep the lights on? That’s all they need to say, all day long.

Sadly true! Let’s hope he’s learned a little since then. Maybe the sting of all those angry constituents and having to cancel his would-have-been-lucrative Book Tour will have made an impression. But New York residents! Call Schumer up and remind him!!
