Damn it, my dad died in 2019 and this was never an option. Not that he would have gotten them; he maintained to the end that his hearing was fine. But it would have made it easier for my sister and I to nag him about it.

I don’t know if I did or didn’t but I know people sometimes build Trump up to be a bit more scary and dangerous as a person than he really is. The authoritarian bent of a certain segment of the country is coming to the fore, which seems to happen in cycles, and Trump is a symptom of that. But as a person, come on. And we’ve been here before:

Every, and I mean every, republican who won the presidency in recent years won because he got more EC votes, and not the popular vote. In trumpet’s case he didn’t even want or expect to win. He’d done a grift on the voting public. His work was done.
