What “crap” did I spew exactly? Because I’m having a hard time figuring out just what you believe I said wrong. Constitutional amendments are repealed. The 21st amendment REPEALED the 18th. If the Electoral College were to go away, it would have to be REPEALED. For some bizarre reason, you felt the need to correct my use of the word repeal as if I said we could just ignore it. I really do not appreciate being condescended to, especially by self-appointed hall monitors.

What kind of conversation might there be if the Republicans kept winning the popular vote but losing the Electoral vote? How quickly would the Electoral College be history, by whatever means? Would it be a Friedman unit, or would it be a Scaramucci unit?

Skanky and the Republican Party were betrayed by the christian nationalist judges on the Supreme Court. I am hearing that Ginni had negotiated a deal and was waiting around for the bagman on the Ellipse on Coup Day. Skanky and the RNC sent far less money than was negotiated.
The RNC also made a tactical mistake by not following through with the violent attack on the Supreme Court that was in the original war plan for the Coup.
If there’s actually such a thing as “the appearance of” then any “Justice” named must recuse from any suit involving T-Dawg for time thenceforth.
We need journalists like the excellent ones at TPM to focus more on the role of members of Congress in Trump’s attempted coup in 2020-221. One in particular, as I discuss below…
MAGA Mike Johnson (R-Trumplandia) is a liar and a fraud. He’s no Christian; he’s a Trump cultist with no moral center or agenda beyond getting Trump in office to end democracy and forcibly impose white nationalist “Christian” minority rule.
Why do I say this? It’s because MAGA Mike was one of Trump’s co-conspirators in seeking to overthrow the 2020 election and impose Trump as president. He hasn’t changed. MAGA Mike was chosen by Trump to be speaker to lead another coup in the upcoming 2024 election.

Plans for a demonstration before the Supreme Court are documented if I recall correctly. (I do find myself wondering why it was called off.)

This is around December 25th. By Dec. 31 Eastman signs and Trump signs a verification asserting as true a set of facts that were known to be false in a Federal case about Georgia.
Where did Eastman get the idea that they were on ‘sound legal grounds’ when he was so busy wading through legal quicksand and the Trump team’s cases had been rejected wholesale by courts across the land?

There were various “voting experts” floating around the campaign and the attorneys making half-baked claims about the data somehow showing that the numbers had to be fraudulent, and they wanted to believe. And much of the late-stage litigation was aimed at getting into the actual election records to “prove” there was fraud.
Remember the Cyber Ninjas recounting all those ballots in Maricopa County, AZ? That’s more or less what these morons wanted to do.

Not mutually exclusive, but I think some of the people involved in organizing the event always knew it was ersatz and it was just an excuse to get people to gather near the Capitol. Meanwhile, others were caught up in Trump’s call to march on the Capitol (saying the quiet part out loud) and the event was abandoned when the mob congregated across the street at the Capitol instead of the Supreme Court.

There was a permit granted for a demonstration area sort of cattycorner from the Supreme Court. Ali Alexander was supposed to be one of the speakers. In the end, the stage never even got set up.

I’m not brilliant but this fine bit of reporting suggests to me that the parties to the attempt to engage the Supreme Court had no idea what the role of The Constitution is in all of this.

But they knew they had Ginny on board. They thought that was enough, and given the corruption on the court, who knows for 100% sure that they were wrong? It’s not like Bush v Gore wasn’t equally lawless.
