Trump Attorneys Ask For A ‘Cooling Off’ Delay In E. Jean Carroll Lawsuit Trial

Trump stirs the pot daily. But now he wants a “cooling off “ delay for all the heat he has created. Weak.

How about No? Does No work for you? Good!

Similar to, w/ (more than?) daily mass shootings, how it’s always “too soon” (after the ‘last most recent’ one) to talk about gun safety legislation.  :face_vomiting: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

With the various trails and indictments, Trumpy will be asking for a ‘cooling off’ delay into the next century. The judge should deny the motion.

Of course Trump wants to draw this out.

Endless delay (while he propagandizes, builds the angst and adds financial expenses to the person taking him to court, hopes for new distractions, etc.) is one of his primary tactics. Donald has been doing this gig for so many years, that everyone has seen the whole act many times before.

As others here have noted, Trump got himself into all of these problems through his own actions and, if they collectively portray a very negative public perception of him, well . . . that’s just too bad.

Whatever merits the request may have, they are outweighed by Trump’s well-known tactic to delay, delay, delay. The little boy has cried 'Wolf!" too many times.

You’re not the boss of me, or anyone not on your payroll, Donnie. Always the victim, never the victor.

Can they have another cooling off period after the Georgia indictment? And after the documents indictment? And after the J6 indictment? If he gets a delay every time he’s indicted, Carroll’s case will never be heard.

Dear Judge Kaplan:

My client cannot have a fair trial so long as he continues to get indicted.

Delay, Obstruct, Negotiate (in bad faith), Accuse, Lie, Deny: DONALD!

I hope this works for him. That means the next time I get accused of a crime, I’ll just commit another crime and say that my second crime keeps the jury from being impartial for my first crime. It’s brilliant. What could possibly go wrong?

If there’s anything that indicates how the ground is shifting under Trump, this is it. He is in a ton of trouble with the law and civil suits. Alvin Bragg cracking that door wide open and winning the PR battle has made Trump feel even more embattled as multiple legal matters are starting to coalesce. If Fulton Co, GA moves forward along the lines outlined in the NYT piece last weekend, I think the GOP is looking at a Watergate political climate similar to the 74-76 election cycles.

Justice delayed is justice denied, or so I’ve heard.

If they really want a cooling off period then. tfg would have to keep his effing yap shut over the thirty day period. How else might prospective jurors be able to come close to forgeting about his sorry arse?

Agreed. If he’s strapped for time, he could have skipped the rally in Waco!

Hey, hey, hey. There’s no need to insult actual hacks. They’re the backbone of the profession.

Well, that’s an easy request for Judge Kaplan to answer. It requires only two or three words. There are several variations of those two or three words, any of which would be appropriate, so long as they derive from Anglo-Saxon roots and have no more than one or two syllables.
