This whole thing is stupid, and just one of many policies to be undone immediately on January 21. A negotiation with China on our future relationship is in order, based on mutual respect …
I’m not sure that’s possible. I mean, seriously, what kind of respect would you show a country that had formerly elected Donald Trump, and let him serve, as its president?
It’ll be a while before we’re deserving of international respect again.
Laura’s pretty much right. I mean, the Failed Mail-Order Meat Salesman used to scream that Obama made America a laughingstock but doesn’t say much about it now that it’s true.
When we end the 500 year long campaign of genocide against Native Americans and deal truly and honestly with the legacies of slavery (among other things), then we might have the moral high ground to stand on.
I am not suggesting that we should let China slide on Tibet or the treatment of Uighurs, but the US’s scolding on these issues rings a bit hollow and everybody in the world knows it.
Lawyers representing the U.S. at Julian Assange’s extradition trial have accepted the claim that the WikiLeaks founder was offered a presidential pardon on the condition that he would help cover up Russia’s involvement in hacking emails from the DNC
IOW:
At the President’s direction, we have taken significant action to combat China’s malicious collection of American citizens’ personal data, while maliciously pursuing that same data from younger people ourselves.
Seriously, it’s not about security. It’s about data from younger people they would like to have stored on American servers where they have access to everything. And they do have access to most of the data collected by Microsoft, FB, Google and etc.
Added:
Maybe NSA can’t sweep up information like they used to, but if they want something, they’ll get it.
He, or his minions turned over data on protestors to the Chinese Govt, that is why they caught them … what is to stop him from turning your data over to DJT or Barr to misuse?
