By my informal count, this is about 100th time he’s dragged this excuse out, it’s applicable to any kind of trumPPmade crisis.
“We’re going to be giving a very strong report as to exactly what we think happened,” Mr. Trump said. “And I think it will be very conclusive.”

Oh, we’re in the worst-case scenario, it’ll be the million plus by the end of the year, barring some miracle.
And they’re doing everything possible to set us up to do just that with forced re-opening going on. NYC is going to look like a walk in the park compared to some of the red states by the end of the month.

Trump’s resignation may have to be a necessity.
It’s the economy, food issues and the exhaustion of the medical community. Dealing with this many COVID cases calls for someone with an emotional age greater than 8.

True that. And having dismantled the entire healthcare systems in those states — including the shuttering innumerable rural hospitals — they will be stacking bodies like cordwood. Thankfully, they will be overstocked with Guardians Of Pandemics politicians to trumpet their resounding success at battling the virus as they line their pockets with billions in bailout dollars.

Naw, he never corrects himself. It’s the rule of 1984, we’ve always been at war with EastAsia. The death numbers will be whatever he says they are when he says them, and they are always “lower than anybody predicted because I’ve done an amazing job”.

If you think you have Covid-19, think twice before swilling down that “DM” cough syrup.
A common ingredient in cough medicines, dextromethorphan, stimulated the growth of SARS-CoV-2 in monkey cells in lab dishes, researchers report April 30 in Nature . Dextromethorphan seems to activate a cellular stress-coping process that is also exploited by the virus for its replication.
“We’re not necessarily recommending that everyone stop taking dextromethorphan,” said Brian Shoichet of the University of California, San Francisco School of Pharmacy.
This work is only in lab experiments, he noted during a news briefing on April 30. In people, cough suppressants have not been shown to make infections worse. But because the lab results demonstrate “a pro-viral effect, it would be wrong not to highlight it, because it could be detrimental,” Shoichet said, noting that more work needs to be done. It’s “something to look out for.”

And when 100,000 is reached, he will raise the bar again to 200,000 and declare success. (This will be repeated until he is out office.) It’s in his nature to inflate his accomplishments and diminish his failures…something forgivable perhaps in a child but absolutely insane in an adult.

Yep, that’s basically what I came to say. There’s no way, no how we’re going to wind up with 100,000 Covid deaths when we’re handling the pandemic in the stupidest way possible. There’ll be a second wave in a few weeks and we’ll probably have a third and fourth wave too until it finally dawns on folks that maybe, just maybe, we need to do the things everyone with any sense and knowledge of pandemics has been repeatedly saying we need to do.

Right. He thinks he is the King of Messaging. He probably is, to specialized groups of people who, to him, are marks…but he has zero actual human connections to people in the ordinary sense.
That is going to increasingly work against him, particularly when he is told–at some point–that the deaths from a virus he should have dealt with FAR better than he has will equal half the deaths associated with the Civil War.

I’d like to see a comparison of NYC’s ICU capacity compared to, say, the rural South’s. My guess is Trump will have to set up more hospital beds and rush more ventilators to his beloved MAGA land before this is all over.
