I had a hunger to know stuff. That’s what led to college, graduate school, advanced degrees and a life of medical bench top research. I was not built to be a clerk tho they are necessary and deserve respect.
I read that the percentage of young Americans who have read at least one complete book in the past year has fallen to an all-time low, and it was a low percentage. Hell, apparently studies have shown that kids in school now can’t read or have a hard time reading cursive. It’s a foreign language to them because they’ve spent their lives staring at digiscreens.
Not to mention that an increasing proportion of the American Public (about 28%) self-identifies as atheist, agnostic or “nothing in particular” when asked about religious affiliation.
