A top evangelical Christian magazine on Thursday called for President Trump’s removal from office over a lack of morality and the action he took as part of the Ukraine pressure scheme, which is at the center of the impeachment inquiry.
Far left, far right, how could we possibly expect him to know the difference?
Based on the evangelicals I know, this won’t change a thing.
I think this is huge. Granted, there are plenty of evangelical Trump lovers who believe he can do no wrong. However, there are also those who support him who have some issues with how he behaves, but they lean on FOX to help form their opinions. This will rock their world. Billy Graham is a big deal around here.
I don’t know if it will be enough to turn them against Trump, but it will certainly give many people pause.
And he claimed socialist rags like CT were out to take “your religion and guns”. Remember how we almost had to stone Obama for mentioning their love of religion and guns?
It will change a lot for the magazine. I hope some Person of Faith doesn’t go all Charlie Hebdo on them.
I won’t heap praise upon an organization for only coming to this realization in the twilight of 2019, when Donald Trump’s profound defects of character have been evident for years or decades. But perhaps CT’s staff can look themselves in the mirror today. It’s two cents better than nothing.
Mark Galli will either resign, be fired, or issue a heartfelt retraction within a week.
