Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) said Sunday he will drop his blockade and get onboard to confirm Kevin Warsh’s nomination to chair the Federal Reserve after the Justice Department dropped an investigation into current central bank chief Jerome Powell. “I have been clear from the start: the U.S. Attorney’s Office criminal investigation into Chair Powell was…

Sigh.

The Justice Department’s word might not be all that reassuring. In her statement dropping the investigation, Pirro warned that her office could reopen a criminal investigation depending on what the Inspector General investigation reveals.

“Note well, however, that I will not hesitate to restart a criminal investigation should the facts warrant doing so,” Pirro said.

It will be out of committee on Wednesday.

Yes, because Trump has an excellent record of abandoning grudges and petty feuds, particularly when the person confronting him folds like a cheap suit. Ugh. Why’d you even bother, dude?

Blockade? Seriously?

Didn’t know this was a parliamentary procedure as well as a failed Trump military policy in the Middle East.

At least they didn’t say he was taking an off-ramp. This is a Monday story. Absolutely no surprise here.

LOL. Indeed!

“Big DOJ didn’t know about it,” Tillis said of the investigation. “The president didn’t know about it. Let’s get rid of this investigation so I can support your confirmation.”
I call bullshit. Felon 45, 47 not only knows about the investigation he required it from “Big DOJ”. Tillis is a weeny. He puts on a show because he’s retiring; otherwise he would have fallen in line like all the other rethug weenies.

What Tillis should do is include in Warsh’s approval a provision precluding DOJ from re-opening the investigation. Don’t bet on it, but that’s what he should do if he’s serious.

Tillis, grandstanding for the cameras on his way out of office. Never a more hollow gesture was made. This is Republican governance at its core. Now, smile for the cameras.

The sham investigation…

Not only is it a “sham” investigation, we will soon see that it was a “sham” dropping of the investigation.

Yep - and that’s a fact.

Oh, please…as soon as trump tool Warsh gets confirmed, Pirro reopens the “investigation” based upon “newly uncovered evidence” forwarded by “certain informed sources”…and “acting” AG Blanche fully backs the probe, declaring that “no man is above the law”, and “we seek justice without fear nor favor”.

Hands-up for those in agreement.
