If MAGA didn’t have their conspiracy theories, they would have nothing.

MAGA thrives on these stupid theories. They need to spice up their boring life with tall tales about others that are not like them.

The Great American Stupid. It lives. It is cultivated and nourished to divide us.

Unfortunately, you can’t fix stupid.

On the general subject of ICE surging, the mission is getting into serious shark-jumping territory. From California to Chicago to Minneapolis*, the hunt is moving to smaller and smaller blue targets. Minnesota is 75% white. To target Springfield is so obviously ethnic cleansing and so obviously not immigration enforcement… reeks of desperation and PR self-mutilation if not suicide. And rich targets like Texas and Florida… just ignored.

  • DC is a special case because Trump directly controls local law enforcement.

Turn off your goddamned cellphones.

JFC, some random people you don’t know one thing about are telling outlandish stories using random “videos” you know nothing about, and you’re making life changing choices based on what these unknowns are saying?

Do we need to be on our phone every minute of the day?

I have like 400 channels on teevee, a lot of the time there’s nothing to see.

Ya know what I’m saying?

I hate this description: Content Creator. For a person to make :money_with_wings: online they have to constantly be out and about looking for something to post about. Now with mobile phone w/cameras anyone can be a “reporter”.
The other problem I see is that some natural or man made calamity occurs and there are folks invited to the US to help them get out of war, or a natural disaster. I personally have no problem with helping these folks. The problem is that one POTUS can welcome them, and the next wants to deport them. There’s no stability to these acts of charity and kindness.

Is it any coincidence that TikTok has recently been acquired by a US-based owner closely allied to Trump?

Completely OT

Jimmy Carter, when asked what he wanted to say about President Reagan behind his back: “That he is incapable of telling the truth.” When we asked what he’d say to Reagan’s face, he replied, “The same thing.”

Jimmy Carter knew character. Reagan, of course, had none. Sort of like many Tik Tok creators.

I think these people who post false info all day long on social media for the sake of getting followers and engagement are creating a new disease. If it were just stupid people believing it we might survive - but many of the country’s leaders and top jurists believe much of it.

I have never participated in Facebook or anything like it - these TPM forums are the closest thing I do to social media. My wife was an early adapter of Facebook and when she told me that someone had “unfriended” her I thought to myself that this was not a positive force.

The Paranoid Style of American Politics strikes again. Also, isn’t “Rogue Content Creators” a little redundant? I feel like most of them are Rogues.

I am ready to drop out of the entire digital world. Is that even possible?

Well, it’s good to hear MAGA is still concerned with human trafficking and child sexual abuse… and actually acknowledge a recent immigrant, much less someone with black or brown skin, may be a victim of these crimes. Maybe more energy on the proven sources, like their President?

On my way to an appointment early this morning, I passed a horrific traffic accident very near the elementary school my kids attended. It was bad enough to close down a busy four lane road and disrupt traffic trying to leave a crosstown parkway. One car was crushed. Later, I found out a teacher at that school was killed in that crash on her way to work. Later still, I learned that accident resulted when ICE “officers” were chasing a “suspect.” Very near a school in very busy traffic.

From a local report: “Lopez (the immigrant) has been arrested by CCPD officers (local) and charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, driving without valid license and failure to obey traffic control device.” and “According to a DHS press release, Lopez is from Guatemala and entered the United State illegally at an unknown time. A federal judge signed off on a final order of removal for Lopez in 2024. Chatham County Sheriff’s Office records show Lopez has no prior criminal history in the county.”

One teacher dead, an entire school traumatized, nobody deported. Good job keeping us safe, ICE.

Haitians and Somalis. Start with the weakest groups and work upward from there.

Tik Tok. Just another Drumpf mouthpiece.

For those of us unfamiliar with some of the newer social media, what’s a “creator” on TikTok?
