I disagree with your assessment of the Democrats’ side of this. They preempted the white-grievance party’s talking points and presented themselves as the adults in the room. All while Cruz, Ro-Jo, Hawley, et al. beclowned themselves with very stale talking points. Ro-Jo when full on white sheet racist - I did not think that they would go there, but Ro-Jo could not resist it. Racism is an almost tourettes like syndrome with them. It’s a reflex.

Sadly, some, not all, of this rancor could have been avoided if Biden had simply said his intention was to nominate the best jurist he could find, and then chosen Jackson. Instead he announced early on that the nominee would only be a black woman. The creation of an identity candidate smacks too much of quotas and affirmative action. Once again, Biden’s advisers have poisoned the soup to placate the left, which hasn’t a clue. Sad!
